'You did this for me?' Hetty asked when she came in and saw the candlelit dinner.
'Sure. I know you hate those stupid all day meetings, figured you deserved something really nice at the end of the day.' Granger replied.
Hetty flashed a warm smile. He may be an old grumpo most of the time, but he was also a real sweetheart.
It also helped that the dinner was good as well. Maybe he was getting better at cooking.
'This is really good!' Hetty remarked.
'Kim came over today and made this. She's getting good at this.' Granger replied.
Oh. Well, close enough.
When the time came to go to bed, Hetty was really impressed to see how good the bed looked.
'I even fluffed your pillow.'
Hetty sighed happily. 'For someone that most think is an old grump, you really know how to make a woman feel special at the end of the day!'
It was 1 of the most peaceful nights they had had in a while. They may have a rough job, but at the end of the day, they got to be a married couple who understood that some nights, they wanted to be treated special, and they loved it very much.
