"Nancy? Jonathan?" Steve and Daphne both said, and they all walked up to one another, completely confused as to why the others were at the lab as well. "What are you doing here?" Nancy asked defensively. Daphne was taken aback at her tone and continued walking next to Steve. "What are you doing here?" Steve retorted.
"We're looking for Mike and Will," Nancy answered. Dustin then got a worried look on his face. "They're not in there are they?"
"We're not sure. Why?" Nancy asked and as if on cue the screeching could be heard as clear as day again, coming from the lab. "I really hope they aren't," Daphne interjected making Jonathan and Nancy look at her. Then she noticed the look on their faces, realizing that both their brothers were in fact inside the Demogorgon-infested lab.
"Oh god, they are... aren't they," Daphne said as Jonathan and Nancy nodded. Everyone then gathered in a circle all talking at once and catching each other up on what had been going on. "How did you get roped into this?" Nancy asked Daphne separately. Daphne chuckled and pointed at Steve who was talking amongst the group. Nancy chuckled and nodded, "Yeah... he can do that."
An awkward silence fell between the girls and Daphne looked between her and Jonathan. "Well, I kind of got myself into this position... Max, too. But of course, they all had to suck us in even further." Nancy chuckled again and looked at the lab and then to Steve and then back at Daphne. Giving her the same suspicious look of why Nancy was with Jonathan.
They turned their attention back to the group as Jonathan was talking about Will and how he had felt guilty for leaving him and his mom for so long. "I haven't seen him since-"
Nancy then stepped through the group making Daphne, who was standing next to her watch as the labs' lights all turned on from top to bottom. "The power's back on," Nancy stated as she grabbed the rest of the group's attention. Jonathan, upon seeing the lights ran over to the security gate and practically jumped inside as everyone ran after him. He continuously pressed the button to open the gate, but it still wouldn't budge.
Jonathan pressed and pressed the button over and over again and still nothing. "Let me try! Let me try, Jonathan!" Dustin pushed his way into the booth and Jonathan reluctantly stepped back. Dustin started doing the exact same thing Jonathan was. Feverously pressing the button over and over again. Making everyone look back at him in annoyance.
Suddenly, Dustin stopped and exclaimed, "Son, of a bitch! You know what..." and continued to press the button. Then in a blink of an eye, the gate began rolling back and the lights turned on around them. "Hey! I got it!" Dustin chuckled, happily.
The group waited for the gate to open and then Nancy and Jonathan hopped into his car. "Wait, here," Nancy ordered before they sped off toward the lab.
Steve, Daphne, and the kids waited at the gate for them to come back and Daphne could see another change in Steve's behavior. Except it wasn't adrenaline or worry or focus, he wasn't focused at all. Daphne knew it was Nancy making him feel this way. The fact that she disappeared from school days ago with Jonathan and she was still with him and she had no doubt that if she knew this, the now confirmed rumor of them running off together, made it to Steve.
