The tunnel seemed just as never-ending as it looked except after what felt like miles after miles of walking it felt like they were going nowhere. The end of the tunnel was still nowhere in sight and the beginning of the tunnel had disappeared long ago.

However, after being in an enclosed space with Steve Harrington for more than eight hours Daphne didn't mind the walk if it could keep him away from talking to her about what was said in the elevator. But he probably wouldn't have talked to her anyway since he seemed so encapsulated with Robin at the moment and Daphne's little green friend presented itself again.

All she could do was watch the two, sailor uniform-wearing, teens talk and laugh amongst themselves as they walked.

It was all Daphne could do to not butt in or do something to Robin, but she liked Robin, she didn't actually want to hurt her it was just surface level. She wanted to tell her off, but Robin hadn't done anything wrong. Lashing out at her would only make her seem more like the bad guy in Steve's eyes. Something that Daphne couldn't afford to do if she ever wanted to talk to him again.

She didn't lie when she said she cared for Steve. She cared for him so much that she was willing to go into a secret Russian room that turned out to be an elevator death-trap for him.

As she stared into the back of his head with his hair that seemed to defy gravity, Daphne realized that she'd probably do anything for Steve. She was willing to risk her life for him once and there was no doubt in her mind that she'd do it again if it came down to it.

What she didn't know though is even though Steve disliked her at the moment he'd do the same for her in a heartbeat. It didn't mean he wanted to see her hurt or on the verge of death.

Then, a sickening feeling overcame Daphne, maybe it was too late, even if it didn't seem like he and Robin were together, what was stopping them? Right now it was the Russians, but if they got back to the surface not even Daphne could come in between their chemistry.

If only she had been brave enough. She thought to herself. Sure, she could fight monsters from the Upside Down and tell her brother off, but when it came to her feelings Daphne couldn't have been more terrified. If she hadn't ignored Steve all those weeks, maybe he'd act like how he was with Robin right now. How it used to be before he was now ignoring her presence. Now that it was happening to Daphne, the taste of her own medicine was as unpleasant as it should've been.

"I mean you have to admit, it's a feat of engineering alone, this is impressive," Dustin admitted making Daphne pull herself out of her thoughts.

"What are you talking about? It's a total fire hazard. There's no stairs, there's no exit, there's just an elevator that drops you halfway to hell," Steve interjected making Daphne move her gaze from him so he wouldn't catch her staring.
