Daphne, Steve, and Robin all followed Nancy up the stairs to the attic. They cautiously took one step at a time to be sure they wouldn't make too much noise or get snatched up by the vines again.
In just a few minutes, the four had made it to the last step and crept into the attic. Nancy had her gun at the ready, along with Daphne. And nothing could've prepared them for the sight before them.
Vecna, in his trance. He was being held in the air by multiple vines. Too many to count in fact. His eyes were closed, Max was obviously still distracting him. He also looked as terrifying as Nancy and Daphne had remembered. However, this was Steve and Robin's first time laying their eyes on him. He was just as bone-chilling as they had imagined.
After staring at the sight before them for what felt like too long, Robin finally slung off her backpack. She placed it on the floor in front of the group and she and Steve took out a bottle each.
Steve held out his bottle and Robin, after looking him in the eyes took out a lighter. She ignited it and Steve let the fire travel along the fabric stuffed into the opening of the bottle.
And just as the flames reach the opening of the glass did Steve throw it over his head, letting it fly toward Vecna.
The bottle exploded, as it hit Vecna's chest, flames erupted all around them. Then suddenly, Vecna let out a terrible wail of pain and the vines began to retract themselves from his body. He was awake.
An aflame Vecna fell to the floor as some vines burned and others flailed about with life. Daphne took action, she pointed her pistol at them as they tried to retaliate.
However, they were weak, giving Daphne an advantage. She fired the gun at the vines, never missing one. They lay limp on the floor now as the others burned. The four watched for a moment as Vecna stared them down in anger. He had underestimated them.
Then, Robin lit her bottle. And once it was ready, she threw it, hitting Vecna once again. He stumbled back in pain, his body still aflame. And finally, it was Nancy's turn. She stepped forward, pointing the barrel of the gun at Vecna. She locked eyes with his burning figure, then BANG!
She let a shot fly, right into his chest. The kickback from her weapon knocked her back slightly. And as Vecna turned back from the shot she reloaded. Once he was facing her again, she moved closer firing the gun once again.
The shot hit him again, sending Vecna stumbling back. Nancy fired it again. This time she hit him in the shoulder. He fell back once more while Nancy never hesitated.
She reloaded again and shot him again. Vecna fell, bracing his fall before he whipped around again. He was still aflame before them and let out a deep growling yell at Nancy as she shot him once more.
This time, Vecna flew through the boarded-up window behind him, falling to his burning demise in the front yard. Nancy lowered her gun as she turned around, Daphne took off. She ran down the attic stairs being careless with her footing this time. "Daph!" Steve called out and followed after her with Nancy and Robin just behind him. They needed to make sure he was dead.
