The argument with Cody went on. Cooper grew tired of the expected fights that even he didn't find interesting to hear with a snack. Cooper walked off, not caring if anyone called for him as he headed to an all too familiar path, Linnie's house. It was a long path to take but a simple one for him. He walked out the castle doors passing the Knights who kept their heads down, refusing to be disrespectful and meet his gaze. Cooper shot them a side glance as he shoved his hands in his pants pockets. He was curious enough to stop in place and examine them further.
Cooper's P.O.V.
They are avoiding my gaze. What is running in those brainwashed minds right now? I usually don't care for these servants, but today, I have the time to check things out better. Everyone else was too busy to stop me. The Knights waited there, tuning out anything I may say unless directed to them as eavesdropping is a horrible crime.
"Well," I said, awkward, "you guys made this more awkward."
I lost interest in them for now. I walked down to the tile floor as the sound of water pouring from a nearby fountain soothed me. I planned to go alone, but the sound of the castle doors opening and someone's fast footsteps indicated that I wouldn't make my way alone. I turn to see Greed, who had only some bandaids on from the light scratches.
I'm glad it wasn't Cole. Greed is an okay fellow. I don't favor him as much as I do with Wrath. Greed is a nervous guy. Wrath, while more stupid, is more fun for me to hang out and about with, Greed? Less so.
I waited reluctantly for Greed. I'm not too upset that this may cause me to hold my visit to Linnie, but I surprisingly don't care. Greed caught up to me, catching his breath as he said something. I didn't care much as all I could hear was a faint ringing as he made several hand gestures as he spoke. I do care about Linnie, but there's something in me that says
"I don't give a shit." I don't think the Royals had to care about their relationships, and they ended up fine. For the most part, Linnie will be fine.
"Finally, you can't just go. We're supposed to protect you!" Greed said, much to my annoyance, "What if you got hurt? We're supposed to be there at all times to ensure no one can even take ten steps near you!"
Since when did he become such a whiney bitch?
"Look, I don't like any of you guys. The only decent one in the group is Wrath." Greed gave me a pointed look, looking worried for a second, having lost his pointed stare.
"How's Wrath's condition?" Greed asked.
"Well, he's not exactly the best. Whatever Maple did, it sure pushed him to his limits." I chuckled, "He'll be fine."
"I can't help but worry. I've never seen Wrath that injured." Greed held a concerned expression.
"Well, I tried asking him when he was conscious." I said, "But he didn't seem to want to tell me, or he was too out of it. He did take some harsh hits to the head."
"I'm surprised they didn't hurt Cole." Greed stated.
I began to walk off to the hospital with Greed by my side.
"Me too." I didn't care too much, "What about you? You've been awful quiet about what happened when they captured you."
I continued walking but stopped once I noticed Greed had stopped walking.
"..." Not a word.
"Whatever, I don't care." I casually said, hearing my phone ring. It was Linnie.
I debated whether I should answer or not, we are dating, but I don't think I need to put in too much effort. I let it go to voicemail, going back to looking over my shoulder to see if Greed follows or not.
