Cooper's P.O.V.

Cooper's ears were ringing he could couldn't process what happened and how his Grandpa and Father were so calm as if HIS death was NOTHING to them. They should be crying or looking guilty since marriage and family is something important to people and they didn't show one bit of remorse for someone they were supposed to be showing remorse! Cooper felt like the whole weight of the situation hit him and how he had left his Dad to rot while he lived freely not worrying as much as he should have when he basically left him in that death trap. Cooper felt his chest tighten as he looked toward his siblings where time seemed to slow down as he watched each of their reactions one by one change from the horrid news. Blue's face full of anger as tears went down his face and he went to attack Father while Nick looked so empty and lost in thought as it all happened in slow motion for him to see as he turned to his other siblings.

Kat was standing seeming to not comprehend the news and Petals was standing there with a look of shock and guilt on her face as it seemed to sink in quick and the two other sextuplets seemed quiet. Cooper felt so angry that his Father wasn't sad not even a bit and not one bit of emotion on his face. And Grandpa was worse since it seemed he was just standing there acting as if it wasn't his only child who died earlier and now he was just standing there not holding any sentiments. How cruel was it to know that the people who are supposed to love you don't care that you are dead and act as if you never were important to them to begin with? I know that Grandpa never loved Dad even when he was a kid but I thought he would show some sort of sadness if he were hurt or dead but people are heartless to that point.

Timeskip

After everyone managed to make Blue stop attacking Father and yelling insults at Grandpa for not showing any emotion to his own sons death. Grandpa said

"He may have been my son but it's best you know he's out of his misery and free from the people who hurt him including me" Grandpa said after Blue calmed down.

Cooper felt everything was bland and he couldn't hear his siblings comforting him as he remembers the day he made his promise as if it was yesterday when it occured.

Like anyone who acts that way would probably not be taken seriously. I think that as I walk to Dad's room for his mandatory check up yet he seemed to be sitting up in bed this time around so I walked up to him. I placed his food next to his bedside drawer and stood in front of him while he stared straight at me before placing his hand on my shoulder and

"I've been here for so long. This home is dark and full of dread and I want you guys to be ready to leave this wretched place once Petals and the sextu-your older siblings are older. I don't think I can survive on my own though so please please I beg of you that you promise me something. Promise me I won't die here." He says to me in a hurried and tired voice.

We stay still for a while my Dad still has his hand on my shoulder but holding it tightly as if he was scared of the thought of staying here with Father. It can make you wonder how such a sweet man ended up like this but I nodded as a way of promising to him but he didn't seem fully convinced.

"Look me in my eyes when you promise that I won't die here" he says making eye contact with me.

I said I promise.

He died there and Cooper along with his siblings felt they were also the cause of him being alone as they seemed to be the only ones who cared about Dad from what we say already from Grandpa and Father. No one can really write in words about how they feel at the moment, is this how it feels to lose someone because if your choices? No one wants to be cause of someone they cared for demise which they suffered for how long unknown to most. It only made them feel worse about his death when they were later told that their Dad was alive for a full day before losing his fight against pain and death. Cooper heard the adults say when spying on them not believing they couldn't have saved his Dad to hear
