Chapter 24

Blue was panicking as he had already felt like he had long lost this battle as Uncle Mercury's usual warm and welcoming eyes were now cold and harsh as he waited for Blue to try another failed attempt against him so that he could win. Mercury was there not knowing if he should just knock Blue out or let him pathetically try to win and fail, Mercury thought he'd let him try a bit longer before he knock out Blue. There was a lot of pain going through Blue as he continued to try to win the battle but each attempt ended with a punch or kick or cut from Blue and there was many tiny cuts he got from the cane sword of Mercury's. Blue had never been beaten in a fight before so he couldn't help it but he felt pathetic at that moment for not being able to land nothing besides a single cut on Mercury's cheek. He hated this so much and just as he thought he was going to land a punch on Mercury, everything went black for him before him as he didn't know that Uncle Mercury had hit him with the back of his elbow on Blue's head.

This of course knocked Blue out as Mercury hit him harshly enough to knock him out of consciousness and he then picked up Blue and took him to infirmary and refused to leave the kids side until they woke up. They were in a weak state and he didn't want a horrible attack happening anytime today while the kids were weak and knocked out meaning they wouldn't be able to defend themselves if someone came in to attack them so they were very defenseless. Mercury was announced the winner amd everyone was excited for the next match sorta as Ace would go against Cooper meaning after the battle field was cleaned up that it would be Ace vs Cooper. It took a good half hours to change the scenery in the battle field along with cleaning the small bit of dried blood that came from Blue thanks to the bad cuts he got from Mercury's sword cane thing so it took a while. Then the battle field was now clean and they were ready to let the battle begin between the two and Cooper was terrified as heard the crowd go wild as soon as Ace appeared on the field and they all knew Ace wouldn't go easy on Cooper's terrified little soul.

Ace was trying not to smirk but he couldn't help it as Cooper takes out a bloody knife that Cody had given him as Dad had chosen him and they had a tradition. The previous king had to pass this knife that was full fo dry blood from all the previous enemies of the other kings who fought them and won then put a line of the blood on the knife and the blood on the knife gave whoever used it a power up. It was tradition for the previous king to pass on the knife to the next new king for them to one day pass on to their blood child that is royal or someone that they see worthy of the knifes power that can help them win easier. Cody had given it to him as Dad was supposed to do that but he was dead so he had to do is the best next thing as he was his grandpa so he bowed and gave this speech on the knife and slowly handed it to Cooper who felt immense power from the knife as soon as he touched it. So he brought it with him to maybe help him win as anything was allowed for most part and he would need everything possible to even land a blow on Ace in battle or anyone for the matter so he just needed to win this or try at least.

Cooper was extremely anxious about the whole thing and he couldn't calm down though he held the knife tightly as he ran straight to the new trees taking cover in the leaves waiting for what Ace would do to next for the battle. Ace laughed and was a little surprised that Cooper actually used his experience from Ace's training compared to the other 3 knocked out kids that were Petals, Blue, and Kat who didn't use Ace's skills he had taught them so that meant Cooper wasn't so dumb. Nick had also used Ace's skills that he had learned to so it was funny to Ace that Cooper actually tried to use Ace's training and there was a chance that Cooper would ironically win. Ace then took out some knives and proceeded to throw knives at the tree Cooper was in and at the others so that he couldn't go to the other trees so Cooper didn't have any cover anymore. Cooper thankfully only got some small cuts from the knives and he went to the field and grabbed some of the knives from the trees and threw them at Ace who dodged them easily and Cooper was punched and kicked several times before he knew it next.
