Chapter 1: Why can't they see me?

Third Person P.O.V.

Cooper was nothing like his other siblings no matter the circumstances, right? Cooper was the 'odd' One of his 8 other siblings and he knew why but did his siblings even know he existed? He was desperate for any affection or sign that someone else had emotions like him that were sweet and caring. You see his 'parents' were completely different for many reasons that make it obvious to anyone, you see in his nice parents world males could have children almost like male seahorses they carry the child in a protected spot in the chest and let them get enemy from the male than having to remove the magic of the developed child out. It was rare and tiring which meant it wasn't done as much but you see his grouchy father's kingdom was not on good terms with his nice parent's kingdom.

And seeing as they were the only children of the royal families they had to marry for a treaty of peace even if they were male, but you see his nice parent has to endure his grouchy father but surprisingly only cared that the kingdom's got along. But you see Cooper knew that his parents both cared about him in a way or two, right? His grouchy father would tell Cooper to be like his siblings, quiet, still and lifeless but they were alive. Cooper wondered why even the youngest one, the one after him was like that along with his other siblings since he moved and noticed things in front of him. But he would wave his hand in front of them and many other desperate things to get their attention but the poor boy only saw his siblings breathe and blink and stay still for hours.

He wondered if they hate him for something he did to them or if he wasn't supposed to be active at all. But when his nice parent comes to his siblings move and whisper things to his nice parent or who he called dad but yet he said they're just tired. He worried more for his younger sibling, her name was Kat and she was the cutest thing if she looked alive but he would make her toys and everything to no avail. He was most scared of his elder brothers Nick and Blue since they seemed to be rather violent when they did move around when his dad wasn't there. But out of the two Nick was more of a goofball but looked rather threatening thanks to his crooked smile and weird cheerful voice.

Blue was a weird silent type who would never enjoy Cooper's company when he was violent but he wrote in red bloody ink ' I and Nick are the ones around here who you have to convince to let you live' and went to his limp state afterward. Cooper would try to tell his grouchy father that his siblings needed help but that day his grouchy father got sick of him decided that he would shut Cooper the f up. Instead, Cooper's dad got hit in the head so badly his head was bleeding and instead of feeling hurt he asked Cooper if he was well and told him to leave and never bother his father again. Cooper later asked his dad why he had more bruises but his dad said something along the lines of 'Sweetie wanna go to the garden? And yes I'm doing well.' But Cooper swears he thought he was his dad on the verge of tears but pulled a smile. Dad told Cooper to never tell anyone unless he looked close to death in his eyes but other than that he was fine.

Cooper heard his dad on the phone with his grandpa saying things like 'Dad if I don't make it please don't let that monster take my babies and I'm trying to help them but they don't talk to anyone else but me!! Cooper is fine but I don't want him thinking his parents aren't in love because he deserves to be happy even when I don't feel the same. Dad, I want to go home I don't want to live in this monster's kingdom any longer! He is worse than all the people here and I miss your hugs but I at least want my kids safer than I am' but soon went back to acting like he wasn't just crying, his eyes no longer puffy as they were earlier. Cooper was unsure what to say since his parents acted all lovey-dovey when he and the siblings were present, so did that mean that his parents didn't love each other at all? His sibling Blue then scared him by grabbing his shoulder harshly and saying 'It's sad that a once happy person like Dad was imprisoned in this hell with other messed us fucks that know nothing behind these closed doors' before letting go and becoming limp once again. Cooper felt at a loss for what to think but shook his head and thought of his younger sibling Kat who tried to talk to him but failed every time. But she did have progress like moving her body without needing their dad's presence and saying one word that wasn't long.

Yet she did struggle in going up the stairs but other than that she was doing well and Cooper couldn't complain. The boy wondered what happened to make them quiet since there are many possibilities for what went wrong and what could fix it. To poor Cooper, the answer wasn't obvious but to any other eye, it would be easy to spot since their father hates noise and when they did speak back then their father would take it upon himself to shut them up. His elder and younger siblings knew what would happen if they were loud but yet Cooper was too oblivious to seem that as a sign to shut up. Unlike his siblings who all unluckily got told the hard way and only feel safe to speak and move when their dad is near, except for Blue and Nick who only move when they want to seek violence.

They aren't completely ruthless because they didn't hit Cooper with a brick that one time and that was the kindest thing they ever did for the boy. Cooper thought 'Maybe if I do different things they used to enjoy surely they'll want to hang out with me and talk more!!' but it's still a work in progress. Kat isn't the only one that supports Cooper, can you guess who? His dad who always heals him and gets him stuff when he's a good little boy but not his father who discourages him. But support from anyone is the greatest things especially when it's two people who support you NON-STOP but not to hard as not to embarrass him.

It was scary to think that your older siblings are the ones who chose if you should die or not. Yet Cooper had hoped that they wouldn't do that to him and that they just needed time to see what life had offered eventually. Cooper always did have something called determination and fear but even if fear was more powered than his determination who said he couldn't use fear as a life source? Instead, the boy uses whatever else he can like that time he almost got burned alive but his dad had this magic where if his dad's tears fell on you, the person who touched the tears will heal. Can Cooper achieve his goals or fail at the end of it all? Well only time will tell us if this young determined boy will make it but fools who run their mouth off wind up dead.
