I reached into my dress pocket in search of the bottle Monomi gave me. I pulled it out and twisted the cap off, taking out one of the small white tablets. I popped one in my mouth and made my way to the bathroom on the right of my cabin.

As I set the bottle on the counter, I heard the monitor in the main room turn on, displaying a laid-back Monokuma with a cocktail in hand.

"Ahem. . . Hope's Peak Academy's School Trip Executive Committee has an announcement to make. . ." He began. "It is now 10:00 p.m. Nighttime can be confusing. . . If you're out at night and accidentally meet a killer, then it sucks to be you! But if you're worried about that and can't sleep, I've prepared a cottage on the hotel grounds for each of you.

"Every single one of you, please feel free to rest in your own rooms. However, before you go to bed, I strongly recommend you lock your doors. You never know who might be planning to kill you! Puhuhu! Bye-byeeeee!"

The monitor shut off and I sighed in fatigue. There was a dresser just outside the bathroom door. I checked the contents to see multiple sets of the outfit I was wearing now as well as a black nightgown with lace along the neckline.

I put on the nightgown and readied myself for bed, sitting on the comfortable mattress provided. I laid my head down on the pillow, staring at the ceiling and recounting the day's unusual events.

Monomi is gone, so we have no one to stand up to Monokuma. Instead of collecting Hope Fragments to leave the island, we're faced with the option of murder and elusion. These thoughts running through my head kept me awake for hours, preventing me from sleeping.

I checked the time, 2:47 a.m.. . . I rose from my bed and grabbed my shoes, stockings and a light cardigan from the dresser and gently opened my door. The cool night air burst through and I stepped out into the refreshing atmosphere. I did my best to move quietly through the hotel site before making my way to the beach.
