He marched over to the table and began effectively eating all four of the skewers. Akane cried that he'd started eating, but he assured her that his actions had a purpose. His real target was the iron skewers used to hold the roasted meat and vegetables together.

"This iron skewer is definitely a dangerous item. I must take full responsibility and collect it!" He informed.

As he finished, Teruteru came in. "Heeeey! Looks like everyone's here!" He greeted. ". . .huh? Whaaaaa-!? Some messy eater ruined Miss Y/N's arrangement!"

"Who made this dish?" Byakuya asked sternly.

"Th-That would be me, but. . .um. . ." Teruteru struggled. "Are you a food critic. . .?"

"What are you plotting? Cooking with such dangerous items. . ." The progeny questioned.

"D-Dangerous. . .?" Teruteru was taken aback by his accusation. "That's churrasco, it's a South American meal where you stab meat on an iron skewer to cook it. . . It felt really tropical and exotic, so I thought it would totally fit the party's atmosphere."

". . . These iron skewers are a problem." Byakuya stated.

"Eh!?" Teruteru panicked. "Iron skewers aren't allowed either!?"

"If that's how you're acting, then there might be more skewers than just these. . ." The blonde inferred. "Hey. . . Hajime. Come with me. I need your help."

". . . Wh-Why me!?" Hajime reacted to his request.

"It's your fault for standing right in front of him. . ." Kazuichi pointed out. "My condolences. . ."

Hajime sighed and followed Byakuya out of the banquet hall. Everyone else resumed their respective conversations, though Teruteru got antsy and headed back to the kitchen. I started getting a little worried and went to check on them, only to find the kitchen in complete disarray.

"Ah! What happened in here. . .!?" I asked upon seeing the mess.

"We just removed all the dangerous items." Byakuya stated. "What are you doing here?"

"You three were taking a while and Akane looks about ready to start eating the tablecloth if she has to. . ." I explained.

"Well, since you're here now Y/N," Teruteru started. "Did you happen to see a fifth iron skewer when you were cleaning in here?"

"A fifth iron skewer. . .?" I repeated. "I don't think so. I didn't bother counting when I put them away, but I don't think there was more than five. . ."

"You see? It's just as I told you," The chef turned to Byakuya. "No matter how clean this place gets. . . stuff is still bound to go missing in an old building, right?"

"If it's been missing all along. . . we can't really do anything about it, right?" Hajime tried to convince Byakuya.

The progeny sighed and agreed. "You're right. . . There's no place to hide such a long skewer, anyway. . . Very well. . . all I need to do is keep a watchful eye."

"Don't tell me you plan to. . . keep a watchful eye all night long?" Hajime asked for confirmation.

"All right, let's go back. The others should be waiting." Byakuya turned and exited the kitchen. "You too, Teruteru, Y/N. Come to the banquet hall for now."

I sighed as I left the messy kitchen and followed them back to the banquet hall. I'll have to go clean that up later. . .

"Ah, they're finally back!" Mahiru greeted as the four of us entered.

"Hey, let's eat already! I'm starvin'!" Akane complained.

". . .There's still an issue we need to address first." Byakuya informed her.
