"What's wrong. . .?"
I jumped and turned around to see Nagito. Worried that he would overreact, I turned to face him while I hid my dominant hand behind my back.
"N-Nothing. . . I was just heading back to the cabins." I assured.
"Would you like me to come with you?" He asked.
". . .Yeah," I answered. "I'd like that."
We proceeded to walk across the bridge in silence. Once we got to the hotel site, he turned to go to his cabin and I pulled on his sleeve, causing him to stop.
". . .What is it?" He asked, turning to face me.
"Don't die on me. . . got it?" I implored.
"Why would I do that?" He smiled warmly.
I gripped his sleeve tighter. ". . .Just. . . don't, okay?"
"Okay." He agreed and I let go of his sleeve, saying goodnight.
I walked back to my cabin, washing the blood off my hand and then practically collapsing onto my bed once I arrived. I didn't realize how tired I was until I hit the mattress and fell asleep after only a few minutes. The sound of a loud bell booming from the speakers woke me up, making me groan as I sat up and yawned.
"So he makes that announcement at 7 a.m. . ." I mumbled to myself, looking at the clock above the bathroom door.
I got up and changed my clothes, swallowing a tablet from the pill bottle afterwards. Soon enough, I heard a knock at my door, making me flinch. I tucked the pill bottle into my skirt pocket and opened the door, a little surprised to see Nagito on the other side.
"Good morning, Y/N!" He greeted cheerfully.
"Morning, Nagito. . ." I looked around. "What are you doing here?"
"I guess you left before we discussed it. . . but we all agreed to meet at the restaurant after the morning announcement." He recounted.
"I see. . . I guess we should get going then!" I suggested, stepping out of my cabin and locking the door.
"I saw Hajime on my way to get you, so we should be the last ones." He stated.
"I can hear Byakuya's scolding already. . ." I joked. He laughed softly. I like his laugh. . .
We entered the hotel and came up through the lobby stairs, seeing everyone else already gathered in the restaurant. Well. . .almost everyone.
". . .Huh? It seems Fuyuhiko is not here yet." Chiaki observed.
"Hehe, maybe he already got killed. . ." Hiyoko suggested.
"Gyaaah! Dead bodies already!?" Ibuki reacted.
"Calm down Ibuki. . ." I tried. "He's probably staying in his cabin after last nights. . . event."
"You'd be correct. . ." Peko confirmed. "I saw him outside earlier. . . He told me he would not be joining us this morning."
"Why does he have to act like a lone wolf at a time like this. . .?" Mahiru commented.
"C-Could he. . ." Kazuichi stuttered. "Is he thinking up a plan to kill someone by himself. . .?"
"Kazuichi! You should not doubt your friend!" Sonia scolded.
"Well, he's a yakuza, isn't he? Do you understand what that means? He's part of the Japanese mafia!" He reminded.
"Exactly." I spoke up.
". . .Huh?" The mechanic was caught off guard.
"Him being a part of the yakuza combined with what he was saying last night is exactly why I think he won't kill anyone. . . At least for now." I explained. "For him to kill someone would be way too obvious. He may be the Ultimate Yakuza but he isn't stupid."
