The kitchen had 3 walls covered in small, white square tiles while the wall to the right was covered with exposed brick. The appliances were mostly stainless steel, safe for a stone oven near the back. There were dirty dishes piled in the sink and dust that covered every inch of counter space.

I started with the counters, wetting a dishrag and wiping them down. After a few minutes, I heard the door open and turned around to see Nagito.

"Ah, you are okay!" I sighed, relieved. "I thought you just might stay there until the party started."

"Aha, I'm sorry if I scared you. . ." He apologized. "I thought I'd come help you in here."

"I thought I told you already, I don't need any help," I reassured. He started to look disappointed, so I caved and let him stay. "If you really want to stay, you could finish cleaning off the counter space while I get started on the dishes. . ."

He lifted his head and walked over to me as I held out the dishrag. Once he took it, I got to work on the dishes. After a while, I forgot he was even there and I started humming another soft tune. When I used to clean my study, I would always put music on so I had a rhythm to follow as I cleaned. Since I didn't have that luxury on this island, humming was the next best thing.

Soon enough, Nagito tapped me on the shoulder, snapping me out of my trance. I looked up at him as he placed the dishrag on the counter next to the sink.

"All the counters are done," He stated. "Is there anything else?"

"Nope. This was the last place on my list," I lied. There was still the bathroom and an office area, but I felt bad making him help with a job that I volunteered for. "I should be done here soon if you wouldn't mind getting Teruteru."

"Of course," He agreed.

Once he left the kitchen, I heard the doors at the entrance shut loudly as Nagito left. I then finished the rest of the dishes, hearing the doors again just as I turned the water off. As I dried my hands, I saw the kitchen doors open, Teruteru standing in the frame.

"You've certainly done an excellent job in here, Miss Y/N!" He praised. "I don't think I've ever seen a kitchen this clean. . ."

"Everything's ready for you to start," I stated. "I just need to finish cleaning up the office and then I'll be done here. Let me know if you need anything!"

I left out the part about the bathroom. In all honesty, I knew he would make some perverted comment if I did. I made my way to the bathroom first, taking the mop and bucket with me. When I opened the door, I found that it was surprisingly clean. Only the mirror and toilet needed an extra wipe down, so I did just that.

I didn't spend any longer than fifteen minutes in there before moving to the office, which was also relatively well-kept. I only needed to wipe down the desk and dust the bookshelves off. There was no further need for the cleaning supplies so I put them all back in the storage room. I let out a quiet sigh of relief now that everything was done.

What should I do now. . .? I thought for a minute after exiting the room. Maybe Teruteru needs some help. . . I walked into the kitchen, seeing at least half of the counter space being covered in dish platters.

"I see I'm not the only one who works fast. . ." I observed.

Teruteru snickered from his place at the stove. "Mmhmhm, a compliment from Miss Y/N? I feel so lucky. . .!"

"Don't let it go to your head. . ." I joked. "I can start setting these up in the banquet hall if you'd like?"

"I'd have it no other way. . .!" He agreed.
