*Investigate!*

Mahiru pulled a chair over and helped me sit down as Mikan began the autopsy. I still can't believe it. . .

"Hey, is it alright with you if I stand over there. . .?" Mahiru asked me, pointing to the centre table. "I just can't handle that smell. . ."

"Of course, I don't mind." I said, trying to force a smile. "I'll be fine here. . ."

As I looked at everyone beginning their respective investigations, I noticed Monokuma hand Hajime something. It looked like a tablet of some kind, but Hajime was studying it like he needed it to live. Eventually, he sighed and turned it off, carrying it with him as he walked over to me, probably intending to examine Byakuya's body. He knelt down in front of the lifted tablecloth and stared hard at the body.

"Why. . .why did he have to end up like this. . .?" I heard him mutter to himself.

I was close enough to lean forward and put a hand on his shoulder. He flinched and almost fell over when I did, but he soon relaxed when I gave him a soft smile.

"Find anything useful. . .?" I tried.

"Uh, yeah. . ." He refocused on the investigation. "It's possible that someone taped a knife to the underside of this table, then applied some kind of glowing paint. . ."

". . .Glowing paint?" I echoed. "Could they have used that to find the knife during the blackout?"

"Maybe. . . But if it was under this tablecloth, what good does the paint do?" He questioned. I put a hand to my chin and thought for a moment before he moved on. "There're also these binoculars. . ."

Binoculars?

"Hajime. . . those aren't binoculars." Nagito corrected, walking up behind him.

"Eh? Then. . .what are they?" The brunette asked.

"Those are probably. . .night-vision goggles." The taller boy concluded.

"N-Night-vision goggles?"

"I've seen them at the supermarket on this island." Nagito recalled. "They also stock self-defense kits too."

"So if that's the case. . . did the killer use these to kill Byakuya during the blackout?" Hajime speculated.

"I don't think so. . ." I mumbled.

"Huh. . .?" Hajime heard me and looked up in question. "Why not?"

"Ah. . .! Forget it, I'm just talking to myself. . ." I assured. ". . .I'm sure my thoughts on this won't be much help anyways."

Exactly. . .You won't be any help. Just sit there and look pretty. . .

"That reminds me. . . What was that tablet Monokuma gave you?"

"Oh, this. . ." Hajime extended his hand and gave me the tablet. I turned it on and saw a picture of the deceased on the screen along with additional information. Including cause of death. . .

"I-Is this. . .?"

"Yeah. He called it a 'Monokuma File'," Hajime explained. "It has all the information regarding cause of death."

"Time of death 11:30. . . repeatedly stabbed. . ." I quietly read to myself as I scrolled through the file. "Is this right? There were no other external injuries?"

"I think so. . .why? What's on your mind?" Hajime asked.

"I-I'm not sure. . . It's probably nothing." I dismissed.

"Alright. . . well, I think I'm done here." Hajime stood up and turned to leave before he stopped and looked at me. "You gonna be okay. . .?"

"I'm fine Hajime," I lied. "Don't worry about me. Just focus on finding the killer."
