What if. . . I knew the motive?
Don't be stupid. Everyone said not to play that game. So you will do just that.
But I could be of use. . . I would be able to protect them.
That isn't your choice to make.
But--
ENOUGH. You will not play that game. Now go to bed.
I sighed and dismissed the idea, turning the knob and entering my cabin. I changed into my nightgown and crawled into bed as I felt a wave of exhaustion pass over me. Before I could think anymore, I fell into a deep sleep accompanied by distant waves.
As if intending to disrupt my peaceful state, the monitor in my cabin came to life and played the morning announcement. I groaned as I stumbled out of bed and began to get ready for the day. It wasn't until I was making my way to the restaurant that I became fully aware. I saw Hajime and Fuyuhiko talking near their cabins so I decided to greet them.
"Good morning--"
"Sh-Shut up! What makes you think you have any right to question me!?" Fuyuhiko scowled at Hajime. It looks like he didn't notice me. . .
"I-I'm not trying to question you. . .!" The brunet took a step back. "I was just. . ."
"Are you saying you don't like the fact I acted on my own, without consulting you guys? Is there something wrong with that, huh!? Are you gonna tie me up like Nagito!?"
"Seriously. . . I didn't mean. . ."
"What's going on. . .?" I muttered.
Fuyuhiko still didn't hear me and continued. "Don't talk to me ever again! If you do, I swear I'll fucking kill you!"
With that, he stormed off to his cabin and slammed the door.
"So. . . What was that about?" I asked, knowing Hajime would hear.
"I was just asking about that envelope he had. . ." He trailed off. "That guy. . . he's gonna be dangerous if we leave him alone. . ."
"Do you think he played the game. . .?"
"Maybe. But for now, why don't we just go to the restaurant with the others." The brunet suggested.
I nodded and we walked to the hotel together. Surprisingly, there weren't a lot of people there. Only Mahiru was there, tapping her foot while staring down at a tray.
"Ah, nice timing!" She perked up as she turned to see us. "I've been waiting for anybody to come by at a time like this."
"Waiting. . . huh?" Hajime was confused by her remark.
"Um, I was thinking about delivering this. . ." She held out the tray.
"Is. . . this someone's breakfast?" Hajime questioned, staring down at it. The tray had a couple of slices of toast with small packets of butter and a bottle of milk.
"Did you prepare that for Nagito?" I asked.
She tilted her head and gave a guilty smile. "I mean. . . if we just leave him all tied up, he's gonna starve. . . Like. . . how long are they planning to continue this?"
"Well, there's no way we can keep him tied up forever. . ." Hajime agreed.
". . . Yeah, that's what I thought at first. But maybe it's better if he was tied up forever." She sighed.
"Huh. . .?" I was surprised by her words.
"Well, I actually went to see Nagito earlier." She explained. "I kindly brought him breakfast. . .And then. . . listen to this! He seriously pisses me off! He said he doesn't like rice so he wanted toast instead! Doesn't he understand the situation he's in right now!?"
