(A/N: I'm very sorry for the amount of time it took to release this chapter. I was having major writer's block and had a lot going on in my personal life. Hopefully, I can keep better to my schedule in the future. Once again, I apologize for the delay, please enjoy.)

I might as well get some sun. . .

I walked a few laps around the island and before I knew it I heard the nighttime announcement play from the monitors. I decided that one more lap couldn't hurt. I hadn't taken any walks during the night here yet. . .

Contrary to the warm air that surrounded the island during the day, the shore quickly became cold and dark in the absence of the hot sun. As I walked I gazed out over the stirring waves. What was once crystal blue water had become an ominous dark liquid, decorated with the glowing reflections of the moon and stars from above. The horizon was still dusted with clouds, illuminated dimly by the moonlight.

The bitter smell of salt drifted in with each swell of the water against the sand. Each crash of the waves against the shore released the ocean's sleeping breath, blowing a numbing cold against my ankles as I walked. Soon enough, I returned to the beach where I started, the golden sand being illuminated by the warm light of the other areas. The closer I got, the more I started to make out the distant outline of someone else standing at the water's edge. My pace slowed as I squinted at his features. His soft hair moved smoothly in the wind as he stared out at the water. I couldn't help but utter his name under my breath.

". . .Nagito?"

Despite the loud crash of the waves in front of him, his eyes widened and he turned his head to meet my gaze. I kept walking until we were a few inches apart.

"What are you doing out here. . .?" I asked. "Especially at this hour. . ."

He smiled. "I could ask you the same. You usually head in after the nighttime announcement."

Why do you know that. . . "I decided to go for an extra lap tonight. Your turn."

"Ehe. . . I just need a place to clear my head," His eyes wandered back to the water. "I see why you like it out here."

The feeling in my fingers began to grow dull from the bitter cold. I sighed, tucking my hands under my arms and hugging my sides as I stared out at the water. Nagito noticed my action and his eyes grew concerned.

"How long have you been out here?" He questioned.

"How long ago did the nighttime announcement go off?"

"Just over an hour ago. . ."

"Then I've been out here for just over an hour," That means it's just after 11 o'clock. . . "What's been on your mind?"

"I've been thinking about what happened on the new island. . ." He answered. "Why did you leave the hospital so abruptly the other day?"

"That's not important. . ."

"Yes it is."

"To who?"

"To me."

I avoided his eyes. "I just needed to get out of there. . ."

"Did Fuyuhiko say something to you?" He put a worried hand on my shoulder.

I shook my head. "It wasn't what he said. It was what Mikan found out."

"Which was what?"

"That none of the wounds he sustained were fatal or nerve-damaging," I recalled. "Monokuma knew that if Fuyuhiko died it would break the rules, so he made sure it couldn't happen. He used Peko's execution as a way to. . . induce despair, mess with our heads," I could feel the tears start to build in my eyes. "When will it stop?"
