My eyes widened at his words. "Is that a request?"

He nodded and the force holding me still evaporated, allowing me to continue untying his hands. Soon enough, they were free and he removed the rope that bound his legs. I extended my hand down to him, offering to help him up. His hand reluctantly grabbed mine as he rose to his feet. I noticed his cheeks darkening as he glanced at my swimsuit.

"Why are you. . ." He trailed off, trying to avert his eyes from the heart-shaped cut-out on my chest.

I soon realized why he became so flustered and started for the door out of the banquet hall. He continued to hold my hand as I led us out of the old building, cautiously checking every now and then for other students investigating. We eventually reached my cabin and I invited him inside while I changed.

"Are you sure. . .? Worthless trash like me should just wait outside, don't you think?" He placed a hand on his hip and stared down at the ground.

I sighed and opened the door for him. "I really don't mind, Nagito. Besides, I think it's best if we try to avoid people seeing you until it's time for the trial."

"If you say so. . ." He finally agreed, stepping inside.

"Just stand over there and. . . face the wall please." I instructed, gesturing to the corner next to the door while I gathered my clothes.

He did as I said and stood in the corner, facing the wall. "Hey, Y/N?"

"Hm?" I paused pulling up my stockings.

"When I was in the banquet hall. . . I heard one of the monitors go off."

I grabbed my skirt and started putting it on. "You heard that?"

"Yeah. . . so I was wondering. . ." He trailed off. "Who was murdered?"

My stomach dropped as the image of Mahiru's lifeless body flashed in my mind. I felt tears start to build in my eyes as I tried to answer.

"It. . . It was uhm. . ." I struggled to get the words out. ". . . Mahiru."

Saying it out loud made it feel so real. . . but there had to be a way that she wasn't really gone, right?

"Jeez, how horrible. . ." He sighed. "She was the heart of our group, always spirited and very eager to talk. . . For her to be killed. . . I know how close you two were. . . If only I could have taken her place, I would have gladly done it. . ."

"No. Please don't say that. . ." I finished putting on my shoes and tapped him on the shoulder. "There are some interesting aspects of the crime scene that link up with Twilight Syndrome Murder Case. So I want you to go play it and then go to the crime scene."

"Where is it?" He asked.

"The beach house on Chandler Beach. It's on the second island, through a tunnel by the diner." I answered, opening the door. "After you do that, come find me."

"Where are you going?"

I gave him a warm smile as I walked out. "To ask someone a question."

Leaving my cabin, I walked to the hotel and waited in the lobby for a few minutes or at least until I saw Nagito leave the hotel site. Once he did, I waited for a few more minutes before leaving the lobby and starting toward the boy's cabins. I stopped outside the one belonging to the Ultimate Yakuza and reluctantly stepped up to the door, gently knocking.

"Go away, Peko! I don't wanna talk about it!" He yelled.

Why would he be expecting Peko. . .?

"It's Y/N. . ." I corrected. "I wanted to ask you something."
