". . .Well, something like that would be impossible anyway." Sonia dismissed her idea. "No island of this size could be completely artificial. This guidebook must be old, too. It contradicts everything about the island's current situation. . ."

"My my. . .you're very intuitive to assume this is an artificial island!" A certain antagonistic bear complimented. "However, those guys are the only ones who could do something on such a massive scale!"

"Those guys. . .?" I questioned.

"The hint is. . . You know, the enormous organization you guys were talking about before." He clarified. "Hmmm. . .it's true that those guys totally deserve to be called a horrible group of people."

"Wh-Who are you talking about. . .?" I questioned again.

"Oops. . . that was a slip of the tongue. . ." He looked down in shame. "I should excuse myself before it leaks onto the internet. . ."

Just like that, he was gone again.

"Could it be. . . this island is completely artificial. . .?" Sonia wondered. "There is no way that is true. . ."

"Y-Yeah. . . That guidebook is probably just old." I agreed.

"You. . . are right." She sighed.

Seeing that Sonia no longer looked like she wanted to talk, I decided to try to talk to Peko. Once I got close enough to speak, I heard her talking to herself.

"I agree that serial killers have different values than normal people, but why does that make them marvellous. . .?" She questioned. "Sonia and Y/N's values might be a little different compared to our own. . ."

"That might be because Sonia and I grew up in different places," I suggested, causing Peko to flinch and quickly turn to face me. "S-Sorry if I scared you. . . I just wanted to offer my input."

"What do mean, 'different places'?" She asked. "I don't mean to sound insensitive. Sonia makes sense, but I thought you were from Japan."

"I was born in Japan, yes. But I travelled a lot for my talent. . ." I trailed off at what came next. "After. . . My father and I settled in Japan when I got the invitation from Hope's Peak Academy. Needless to say, I've had my fair share of different experiences."

"I see. But why serial killers?" She questioned. "I just don't see the appeal."

"I guess. . .It was the one thing that never changed." I said blatantly. "No matter where I travelled, the one thing that was always the same. . . was violence. After a while, it became a topic of interest. Something I could use to distract myself from. . ."

". . .From what?"

"N-Nothing. . . Nevermind." I dismissed. "I hope that somewhat answers your question. . ."

She nodded and stopped questioning it. I spotted a second floor and decided to investigate further. A lot of the books were based on politics, finances, and aspects of the law. Makes sense if these were donated by wealthy parties. . .

I heard the library doors open and looked down to see Chiaki in the doorway. She spoke to Sonia and Peko, gesturing to the door. They both nodded and left. She looked up at me and gestured for me to come down to her, which I did swiftly.

"Hey Chiaki," I greeted. "What's going on?"

"Um. . . I'm letting everyone else know too, but can you come to the ancient ruins on this island right away?" She requested.

"I-I guess-"

"You can, right?" She cut me off. "Right away, okay.  Hurry up."

With that, she walked out of the library. Guess I should head over there. . .It seemed important.
