For the next 200 years, I travel the world, as a nomad just as my mother was when her home was destroyed. I traveled in the shadows not wanting to draw attention to myself. During this time I perfected my craft and learned how to control my powers so that they would never control me.
Along with Mother's immorality, my gift of telepathy grew not only could I read minds I could also control them, from my sister I had control over the elements, I could create a storm in the blink of an eye or grow a garden even faster, the night I transformed I was given more than just my families gifts, the universe blessed me as well. I could move things by just thinking about them, and if I focused enough I could manifest the energy inside me to become a power in my hands.
Learning how to use all my powers took centuries but it helped me work through my grief, it gave me purpose. I also found purpose in helping people, I snuck into hospitals and healed people, also picking up information everywhere I traveled. There was talk of other supernatural beings such as werewolves, shapeshifters, witches, and even vampires. I chalked it all up as fable as I had never come across such creatures in all my time alive.
In 1918 everything changed. I have made it to the new world, much has changed and people are different. They don't wonder about the supernatural as they once did. There is a pandemic sweeping through and killing millions of people called the Spanish Flu. Because of this, I find myself in a hospital in Chicago healing as many people as possible. I worked there nonstop for weeks trying to heal but this virus spread and killed quickly. For every one person I healed 5 were already dead.
Even though I hardly ever left I did my best to remain unnoticed by the nurses and doctors and all was well until today. I heard a voice say "what's your name? I see you working day in and day out with no rest it's truly inspiring." I looked up to see kind golden eyes and I said "my name is Solstice Noble, I'm a nurse here. Nice to meet you Dr?" he answered "Cullen, but you can just call me Carlisle. Aren't you a little young to be a nurse?" I smiled "Oh no need to worry Dr.Cullen I'm older than I look" he laughed and spoke again "Everyone you help ends up miraculously healed, you must share your secret to success."
Although he meant no harm this made me panic, I searched his mind for any sign of malice but came up empty-handed, the doctor was genuine. All he wanted to do was save people, that's all he thought about. He was good but I couldn't shake the feeling that there was something off about him, although his demeanor was warm and he radiated comfort I got the chills just standing near him there was more to him than what I could see that was certain. After a long pause, I answered "There is no secret doctor, I give it my all and hope for the best, same as you" He smiled again "I suppose that's all we can do, nonetheless we are very lucky to have you. Please if you need anything at all do not hesitate to ask" I nodded at him with a smile as he made his exit.
There was a curiosity that ate at me while he walked out, I needed to know more about the doctor.
