 When I walked down my long driveway I saw a black SUV waiting for me. A tall man stepped out and grabbed my bags without saying a word to me, he opened the door for me and shut the door behind me. I thanked him and he just silently nodded towards me. His thoughts were only of his duty to deliver me to the airport safely, he was terrified of saying or doing anything wrong so he stayed silent. The ride was quiet but I needed silence to process the events of the last 24 hours. I looked at my hand, turning it from its palm to back a crimson red light radiated from it. I shook my head and balled up my fist. I didn't recognize this power, it was so strong it felt unstoppable...unlimited. How could the dark witches be responsible, why would they want to make me stronger? Or maybe they thought I would die. That's if they were even responsible for my near death. There must be something I am not seeing a missing peice to this whole situation. Volterra may not be the best idea but I'm sure that the coven of witches wouldn't dare follow me there. 

I was lost in my thoughts and suddenly we arrived to a private plane, the chauffeur silently unpacked my bags and bowed to me. "Thank you sir, I'll be sure to let Caius know that your service was excellent." Relief washed over him and he flashed me a quick smile before departing. I walked onto the plane and sat near the window, once again it was silent because I was the only passenger on the plane. Shortly after the plane departed a flight attendant came out to see if I was comfortable. "The journey is long, Lady Solstice, can I offer you any refreshments or food?" I smiled at her. She was nervous and a little scared just like the driver. "Oh I'll just have water thank you, and just Solstice will do." I said to her and she quickly brought me water with a glass of ice. I couldn't even think of eating, truthfully I couldn't remember the last thing I ate. My nerves were a mess and my stress was all consuming at this point. Now that I was in the air, I missed my family and I felt guilty. I closed my eyes and took several deep breaths in an effort to relax.

 Suddenly I was alone in the dark, I felt so cold and exposed. I couldn't see where I was, then I felt another presence. I was no longer alone in the dark, which was somehow worse. "Who are you? I know you are out there." A dark cloaked figure emerged from the shadows. The figure spoke "Goddess of darkness, why do you run from your power?" I felt nauseous... Goddess of darkness? "I dont know what you are talking about. Stop your lies, I am a lightbringer, a healer, not darkness." The figure spoke again "You have been lied to, your power hidden and stifled. There is no limit to your power, you will soon see great Goddess. Your rebirth has set it all in motion. You are meant to lead us into a new age, and I will help you do that." The figure came uncomfortably close and for some reason I felt like I knew this person. I lunged for the dark figure but it was gone right before me.

 My eyes sprang open and I saw my hand around the neck of the sweet flight attendant, her eyes locked on me in horror. I quickly released her and she fell to the floor coughing and fighting to catch her breath. "Oh my goodness I am so sorry I didn't mean to." I exclaimed as I went down to her to assess the damage. There was a bruise in the shape of my hand on her neck, I felt ashamed. I reached for her and she flinched as tears fell from her eyes she tried to speak but couldn't. "Please I don't mean to harm you... again. I can help you If you let me." She hesitated but feared that I would harm her even more if she didn't obey, this made me feel sick. She thought I was a monster, she was right. I placed my hand on the bruise I left, it went much deeper than the eye could see. If I had held on for a moment longer I would have crushed her windpipe. 

I focused my power on her injury hoping that I wouldn't cause any more damage since I didn't really understand this new power yet.. I felt my energy flow into her and the bruise was gone from the inside to the outside. I sighed in relief and she held her hand to her neck as she stood up. "Thank you Lady Solstice." I looked up at her and replied "There is no reason to thank me, it was my fault after all. What's your name?" She still looked terrified but she answered "Izzy, my name is Izzy." I nodded. "I am deeply sorry for the harm I caused you Izzy, do you mind telling me what happened? I don't understand why this happened" She answered me quickly, afraid to upset me. "Of course Lady Solstice, You fell asleep shortly after takeoff and you slept nearly the entire flight. I went to let you know that we would be landing in an hour and then you..." She didnt finish her statement but I knew what she was going to say. "I slept for 14 hours? It felt like 5 minutes. Truly Izzy I am sorry, it was a terrible accident and I really have no excuse but I will make it up to you somehow."

 None of it made sense, it was a nightmare but it felt so real, real enough that I nearly asphyxiated an innocent girl. I could make her forget it, then she would be okay, I already healed her without issue. What harm would it be to make her forget the whole incident? I reached for her hand and looked her in the eyes "Izzy forget what just happened, the flight went perfectly and you did an excellent job." It was too easy, her eyes glazed over and she smiled. "Lady Solstice, we will be arriving just outside of the city shortly. I hope you enjoyed your flight, it was an honor to serve you today." She walked back to her area and left me alone. 

I waited for the guilt to come for what I did, but it didn't come, she was better off forgetting what I did to her. I looked out of the window and prepared myself to be in Volterra.

A/N: I'M BACK! I am so sorry for the long time away. I am happy to say that my finals went well and I passed all of my classes!! I am going to post a few chapters back to back to make up for the updates I've missed :) and since I have a month long break before I'm back in school I will try to update more often!! LOVE YOU ALL and thank you for being patient.
