Before I knew it we were at LaPush and I became hyper aware of the fact that I was silent the entire drive. We parked next to Bella and the rest of the group, the guys and Jessica were putting on their wetsuits and getting ready to hit the water. I turned to Sam to try to recover from the painfully awkward situation I put us in by fantasizing about Caius the entire ride. "So Sam are you surfing today?" I asked brightly. He turned and flashed his charming smile before answering me. "No I don't think so, I was hoping to just spend some time with you and get to know you some more!" I smiled shyly and replied "Okay we can do that, I guess I owe you that after the world's most silent car ride right?" He laughed "Oh don't even worry about that just being in your presence is enough for me, I genuinely enjoy your company. No words needed." His words were kind but for some reason I felt guilty, I didn't want to lead him on if he wanted more than a friendship. It was hard to know how he really felt since I could hardly hear his thoughts.

 Before I could say anything Sam stepped out and was at my door to open it for me. "Thanks" I said to him awkwardly and we walked over to the group. I went up to Bella to give her a big smile and a quick hug. "Hey Bell Bell, how are you? We haven't caught up in a little while." She smiled and hugged me back, a little awkwardly but It wouldn't be Bella if it wasn't a little awkward. "Hey Sol, I've been meaning to reach out but..." she trailed off at the end of her answer so I jumped in to try to avoid the awkward Edward conversation. "No worries, I'm just happy to see you today, don't be a stranger okay?" She flashed a small smile and nodded towards me. "Uh do you know if Edward is coming?" She asked in a quiet voice. I felt bad for her. I couldn't explain that he would love to spend time with her but he couldn't even if he tried. He isn't welcome here.I shook my head no and her eyes fell to her feet and turned over to Angela and Jessica and they started chatting. I was a little annoyed that I had just arrived and things were already awkward.

 I don't know what was up with me these days, simple conversations never used to trouble me and now here I am I can't even take a car ride without fantasizing about my vampire king...man friend...situation? I walked up to the van they were all sitting and standing by to try to break some tension. Just then a few of the Quileute boys walked up to our group one of them was Jacob Black. " Bella!" he said, not taking his eyes off her. "Hi Jacob. Are you stalking me?" She said jokingly. His thoughts were flooded with flirty replies, he was so giddy to just be in her presence. He definitely had a thing for her, he was so smitten he didn't even acknowledge I was on his territory, not that it mattered I made my own arrangement with Billy and the council. Jacob answered Bellas slick remark with a full teeth smile "Hey you're on my rez remember." Bella laughed and Jacob got cozy next to her. Jessica cut in the conversation "Hey you guys should keep Bella company, her date bailed." God she could be such a bitch sometimes, I could feel the satisfaction oozing from her, she took pleasure in embarrassing Bella by announcing my brother's absence. The boys immediately chimed in to Jessica's comment. "What date?" Eric asked. Jessica smiled as they played right into her petty conversation. "She invited Edward." She said with a small laugh and there were lots of scoffs from the group.

 I rolled my eyes, sometimes it was so infuriating to be around her. Bella quickly replied "To be polite, that's it" She was looking down at her hands as she picked at them. I wanted to jump in and defend her and my brother, but what could I even say to help. "I think it's nice she invited him! Nobody ever does" Angela said in defense of Bella. She was a sweetheart and made being around Jes almost bearable. Then Mike opened his ignorant mouth. "Yeah cause' Cullens is a freak!" I turned to him and my eyes hit him like daggers. I balled my hands up into a fist and felt the anger stirring in me. Then one of the Quileute boys chimed in. "you got that right." I snapped my head now looking at him. I felt my power tearing at my insides pleading to be unleashed. I had to say something or somebody was going to feel my wrath. "Oh you know him?" I asked in a cool voice trying to put a calm face on. Sam looked at me with sorry eyes like he felt bad that my family was being insulted right in front of me.
