As I made my way back to my family I was feeling quite nervous, it had been years since I had seen them in person, and I had yet to meet all of my new members. They were currently living in a secluded part of Alaska near another "vegetarian" coven, I had told them I was coming home and they were eager for my arrival. Before I arrived I had mentally decided not to tell Carlisle about my close encounter with the Volturi, and I also put the whole encounter behind a wall in my mind to make sure Edward couldn't see it in my mind. I didn't love keeping secrets from them but until I could understand what it all meant I didn't want them to worry. Now I was suddenly at the door to a beautiful large rustic home and before I could even knock the door swung open and a petite short haired girl stood before me her smile beaming "Solstice we've been expecting you! Welcome home sis!" and she wrapped me in a tight embrace.

Part of me expected it to be a small adjustment meeting all my new siblings but Alice acted as if we had known each other all our lives, It made all the nerves dissipate instantly. "Well hello, Alice! You are even more gorgeous than I imagined, although it was basically like pulling teeth with Edward for descriptions of everyone" I said with a smile. She ushered me in and waiting for me was my family all bunched up and smiling holding a cake that said:  "Welcome home". I grinned from ear to ear "You guys really didn't have to do all this!" Carlisle came forward and embraced me and said "Of course we do, it's not every day your daughter comes home after almost fifty years" I hugged him back tightly and said "I thought being immortal made the years seem less important but I missed my family every day" One after another everyone came and hugged me welcoming me home, I chatted with everyone and told them of my travels. Then Esme spoke to me "Please come sit and eat we made you dinner, you must be starved" Her kind tone and warm smile made me miss mother deeply it had been so long since I felt the type of motherly love. "Oh Esme you are too kind, you didn't have to go out of your way to cook just for me." She shook her head and me and replied "Nonsense dear, it's my pleasure. I won't let you starve just because we don't eat" I laughed and thanked her again.

After I finished eating dinner and chatting with Emmet and Rosalie I went up to the room Carlisle and Esme set aside for me, they told me Alice decorated it and she promised I would love it. She really was right my room looked amazing, not that I doubted her for a moment. The walls were a lovely shade of forest green, with plants hanging from every corner, there was a floor-to-ceiling window that opened to a small balcony that overlooked the frozen lake, my bed was king-sized with various shades of green decorating it, and behind my bed was a half wall bookshelf filled with occult books, encyclopedias, and mystic arts books, and on the other side of the room, there was a luscious velvet couch that looked quite inviting. It was perfect for me, all the plants in my room started blooming and sprouting flowers as my heart was so full it manifested in my magic.

Then a familiar voice in my mind caught me off guard "Well it seems you love your room" I turned quickly immediately knowing who it was "Edward!" I exclaimed aloud wrapping my arms around him tightly. "I missed you so much, we didn't keep in contact nearly as much as I would've wished, I wrote and called when I could but for a while, Carlisle said you left, what's that about dear brother?" This was something that did bother me greatly at the time but Carlisle told me not to worry myself and finish what I set off to do, he assured me everything would be okay when I returned. I worried for my brother, I wanted to go find him but decided against it at the time. Edward spoke softly "It was rough for me after you left, I went against Carlisle and rejected his peaceful way of life. I don't know what got into me, my thirst was hard to control and I felt like a failure. I left and did things I now regret, I killed people Sol. I was a monster."

I looked into his eyes and felt the guilt and embarrassment radiating from him, he showed me in his mind what he did, he would go after rapists and killers. He would kill them before they got the chance to hurt people. I grabbed my brother's hand and sat him on my couch not letting go of his hand, then I spoke again aloud. "Edward you could never be a monster, you were in pain, you were confused. I only wish I was there to bring you home. You know my past, you know I hurt people... Innocent people. I thought I too was a monster until you and Carlisle took me in and made me feel like a person again. There's nothing you could do that could make me stop loving you, I promise. "He nodded slowly and smiled, then I punched his arm and spoke "Now one thing I won't forgive again is you not keeping in touch with me asshole! Never do that to me again" He laughed "I won't do it again I Promise" He said rolling his eyes and shoving me back. He left a little while after we chatted and caught up. Now that I was back home almost everything felt right, there was just a small feeling in the back of my mind I couldn't get rid of, the encounter with the Volturi left me uneasy.

I wasn't used to feeling threatened but whatever happened to me that night instilled this sense of doom in me for some reason it just felt like that wasn't the end of whatever happened, but I just shook it off and shoved the feeling down.
