Dangerously Close

I woke up earlier than usual today for some reason so I went downstairs to make myself some breakfast, Carlisle was already gone to the hospital to work, and Emse left to go get some supplies to decorate the house for the fifth time this month. As I was eating Alice sat down next to me, and she seemed aloof. Her stare was blank, she was seeing a vision. I waited for her to snap back before I spoke. "What did you see" she looked kind of grim. "Nothing is clear, the future keeps changing. I've been seeing different images for ages now. I see you, I see Edward, I see someone new." I looked into her mind as she was talking to try to see, I saw the girl she was pretty with long brown hair, and I saw Edward, coming after her." I stopped looking and set my food down before I spoke. "What the hell was that? Why is he trying to hurt her?" Alice spoke again "It doesn't make any sense, sometimes I see him trying to kill her and sometimes I see him holding her hand and smiling. And you, It's even more unclear I see you and the Volturi. I can't see why you are involved but at some point you face them." I swallowed hard "Well like you said it's all so unclear right?" She looked confused "Sol is there something I need to know?" I sighed "I don't know yet here just look for yourself, It's literally impossible to explain" 

I put my hands up to her head and showed her everything, my encounter, my dream, my feelings. After I showed her she sat there as if what I showed her made everything more confusing. "That's a lot to take in Sol and I don't really like the fact you and Edward kept it from us" I looked down and my hands then spoke, "I shouldn't have I am sorry, but I thought it was all behind me, honestly I haven't thought about it all in the past two years." Alice let out a sarcastic laugh. "I literally just saw into your mind, you have definitely thought about it the past two years" My cheeks got hot. "Okay maybe I have, that dream was a lot to process okay? Anyways we have to deal with the most pressing issue, regardless of what happens between Edward and our mystery girl, she's coming soon the date behind her was literally tomorrow. 

We have to watch Edward and make sure he doesn't hurt her. Also, try not to think about it around him, he will definitely overreact." Alice agreed and I successfully evaded talking about Caius any further. Just thinking about him made me long for some sort of contact with him, part of me was disappointed every night I didn't dream of him.

That night my thoughts were racing, thinking about the new girl, why would Edward hurt her? The brother I know would never, there must be something we didn't see in Alice's vision. Before I know It my eyes are getting heavy and I fall asleep. 

I open my eyes and I'm back in his room, I look around for a moment before whispering to myself "I should leave" then I feel the buzz in the air and feel him behind me he whispers back "Please don't" his voice shakes my insides with just a whisper. I slowly nod my head and turn. I stare at him for a long moment and stroke his cheek feeling the fire and electricity in my fingers before I speak again. "If you are just in my head why do you feel so real?" This comment seems to shock him and he answers me "I was just going to ask you the same thing" I try to take a step back but he grabs my wrist and keeps me close to him. "I-I don't understand, this is just a dream. We aren't actually here together, vampires don't even sleep." I said quickly. He smirked like he was enjoying watching me squirm. "Yes it's true I don't sleep that's how I know it's not a dream, for me, it's a vision. I can't control it, it's like you invade my mind and I'm here with you. So how do you do it?" I was utterly shocked by his words, was this really me? I shook my head "No that's impossible, I'm asleep and this is just a dream. You are just my dream." He spoke again still holding onto me. "It's real, tell me where to find you and I'll prove it" his voice was low and seductive. "No, I won't tell you where I am" he chuckled, his laugh was so attractive, I was losing focus. "If it's just a dream why can't I know?" I shrugged breaking eye contact by looking down, he made me feel weak and vulnerable. He then lifted my chin so that our eyes met again. "Why do you hide from me?" my body wanted to just give into his touch, but my mind continued to fight the urge. I sucked in a breath to answer. "I'm not" I gained some courage and took a step back, as long as he touched me I couldn't think straight. 

His eyes darkened as he didn't like this. "You hid from me that night, I know you were there watching me. Your scent is unmistakable, and it's the only thing I've thought of for years. I can tell I make you uneasy, I can also tell I make your heart beat race, your cheeks flush, among other physical reactions" he smirked before he continued "But you also affect me, I don't like the power you hold over me. I can't allow it, you make me weak and I can't accept that. Whatever you are, and whoever is using you to try to get me will not succeed." I laughed at loud and this made him angry. "You find this funny?" he lunged at me and I held my hand up bringing him to his knees he tried to struggle from my grasp. "You are one self-centered asshole you know that? What makes you think I want anything to do with you? Nobody uses me, nobody comes for me, and sure as hell nobody controls me" I got in his face and smirked. "You can't hurt me in here or out there." He looked up at me with anger, but his mind was filled with confusion and longing. I turned to leave and he spoke again. "I won't come looking for you if you do me a favor" I chuckled at his statement " You can't be serious, you're asking a favor of me after you just threatened me? That's rich, you couldn't find me even if you tried. But my curiosity is peeked what do you want" the truth is I didn't want to leave him yet, I asserted my power when all I wanted to do was kiss him. I needed to hear what he had to say. He spoke in a calm tone. "Will you come back? I won't look for you, but don't disappear for two years again. It's driven me mad. Don't you feel the pain in your chest, when we part? If you won't let me find you out there, then just meet me here. Where it's safe for both of us." 

Once again he left me speechless, how was this the same man who just tried to kill me in my own dream? Now he wanted me to come to see him often, in my dreams? Talk about whiplash. Though I couldn't understand his irrational behavior, he wanted me there. He was right my chest ached when I thought of him. Maybe I could grant his favor. I finally spoke after a moment "I'll think about it and let you know my decision, next time." He slowly nodded "At least I get to see you once more." He got up and was right in front of me again, so close there was heat between us. "See you next time," he said as he leaned closer and he left a kiss on my neck. I closed my eyes tightly.

I opened my eyes and I was back in my bed, but my neck burned where he left a kiss. My head was still spinning, it was hard to even process what had just happened.
