Bella Swan

I walked into school pushing away the events of the early morning and walked into school with a purpose. I went straight to the office to try to see if the new girl had arrived yet. I saw the office was empty except for the front desk lady Gladys. "Good morning Gladys, I heard we had a new student coming! I was hoping I could show her around since I know what it's like to be the new girl" I said with a charming smile. Gladys looked up from her glasses "I don't see the problem with that." I smiled again and said, "Oh perfect, I can take her schedule that way I can know where I'm taking her." Gladys shook her head "Oh no dear I'll give it to Bella myself why don't you just wait on her" I got frustrated I needed to make sure we were in the same classes so I could keep an eye on her. I looked deeply into Gladys' eyes "don't worry about it Gladys I'll take her schedule, but make sure Bella and I share the same schedule please" With hazy eyes, Gladys did as I told her, she handed me Bellas schedule which was Identical to mine. "Thank you very much Gladys have a lovely day." She looked confused as she didn't know why she had just done that but she went on with her business. I went over Bella's information according to her schedule, Bella Swan was her name. She was the Chief's daughter, how great. Edward was going after the chief's daughter, this situation kept making less and less sense. While I was mulling over this information Alice appeared before me. "I see you got what you needed, I keep seeing Edward attack her in Biology, but it's not certain. Like the choice hasn't been made. I really can't understand why he would even contemplate such a thing. I can't see anything beyond this indecision" I nodded in understanding, well no matter what Edward decides I'm not going to let him hurt her, that kind of attention could get us in serious trouble right?" Alice looked worried "Yeah attention from the Volturi, just find out what her deal is okay? Why does Edward lose control around her." I agreed and went on my way to find her before he did. I waited in front of the office and then I saw her, she was pretty her eyes were chocolate brown, her skin was so pale, she looked pensive. I went to look into her mind but saw nothing, I was visibly confused. Then her eye locked with mine as if she felt me trying to pry my way into her head. I shook this off and offered a smile. "Hi, I'm Solstice Cullen, you must be Bella! I'm here to show you around." I said, she have me an awkward smile before clearing her throat to speak. "Um uh yeah I'm Bella, thanks for showing me around." she said awkwardly, I tried again to see what was going through her mind but there was nothing. I couldn't even tell what she thought of me. I smiled again "Oh yeah it's no biggie, we have the same schedule so I figured I would be the perfect person to show you around! I hope we can be friends." I said to her. She just gave me a quick nod, maybe I came on too strong, or maybe she was just nervous, either way, I couldn't let her leave my side. Our first four classes went fine, Bella was quiet and didn't really say much to me. Eric was quick to make his introductions, he was very much taken by her, his thoughts very flirty. In the gym she met Mike and Jess, Mike was also very obviously taken with Bella, and Jessica's jealousy became the loudest thought in the gym. It was nice to see Bella open up a bit and not be so awkward, she started talking to me a bit more, Mike and Eric both asked her to sit with them at lunch and she hesitantly agreed. On our way to lunch, Bella spoke up "Are you sitting with us at lunch?" I answered her quickly as we walked "Oh no, I mean sometimes I do but I already told my siblings I would sit with them, but it's okay I'll catch up with you in bio. You will have a fun lunch with Mike, Eric, Jess, and Angie who you haven't met yet." Bella let out a little sarcastic laugh and said "Oh yea I'm the epitome of fun" I looked at her and laughed "Was that a joke Bella Swan? I didn't know you had it in you shy girl" She smiled at me and said she'd look for me after lunch. I made my way to the table in the back corner of the cafeteria waiting for everyone else to walk in. A moment later I see my siblings making their way into the cafeteria. I look towards the table that Bella is at and see her stare at them and ask Jess something, I look into Jess's mind she talking about my family. Giving what she believes is an accurate description of us. Jessica is a fun friend to have but she has a mouth on her. "You're right about that part" the thought from Edward takes me away from the conversation at the Bellas table. I looked up at him and shot a quick grin "Hey Ed, I see you are still sticking your nose in my thoughts." I said and stuck out my tongue. Then his focus drifted from me and he locked eyes with Bella, I froze afraid of what Edward would do. He looked so troubled, that I could tell he was trying to read her mind. Then I spoke to him in my mind "I can't hear her either" he quickly looked away with a curious look on his face but he didn't answer me. My siblings carried on with their conversations, and Alice sat quietly focusing on anything but her visions so Edward wouldn't freak out. I looked at her and tried to assure her with a look that I had it handled. The bell rang and it was time for biology I got up quickly and left to catch up with Bella.

"Hey, Bella how was lunch?" I said with a smile. She looked over at me and answered while we kept walking to class. "Oh it was okay" she answered me quietly and awkwardly again. Looks like she was uncomfortable with me once again, thanks to Jessica's little background on my family. We walked into class and Edward was already sitting, I made my way to sit next to him but our teacher called my name "Solstice sit with Mike please I'm going to have Edward catch up with our new student Bella if you don't mind" I felt panicked, this was exactly what I didn't want, Bella walked further into the class and the fan blew her hair into her face as she was trying to smile at Edward. I felt an odd emotion radiating from Edward and I snapped my head to look at him. He was using all his will and strength not to jump across the lab desk and drain Bella, the feeling was clear now, he was ravenous. Bellas blood made him feral, and he craved her more than anything. He covered his nose as if he was trying to block the smell. I heard his voice in my mind "Sol if I don't get the fuck out of here I'll kill her, I can't control it." I answered him "Don't focus on her scent, do not take another breath. I'm going to try to help you." I quickly closed my eyes and tried to mask her scent, it worked enough to where Edward could last through the class without murdering the poor girl, but I knew he was In agony trying to fight the burning thirst. The bell rang and Edward and I shot up from our seats and rushed out of their door. From the corner of my eye, I saw that Bella wanted to talk to me but I had to follow Edward.

He was gone in the blink of an eye thanks to that goddamn speed so, I made my way to the car to wait for him. He came quickly after, looking absolutely irate. I spoke in a hushed voice as we got into the car "what the fuck was that?" Just then Rose and Alice were in the car. Edward didn't say a word. "What happened? Did someone die?" Rose said jokingly. Our grim expressions wiped the pretty smile off of her face. Alice then spoke, "Edward you didn't do it, why are you so angry?" He answered with a growl "If Solstice didn't stop me she would be dead, don't pretend I'm not the monster here." Now I spoke up "Edward stop, I felt what you felt, the way her blood called to you was almost too strong for even me to mask, you could've killed if you wanted. You fought it until I could help, how does that make you a monster?" Edward spoke again "I can't go back, I need to feed and calm down. I don't know if I'll be able to stop myself next time. I almost killed the entire class just to taste her blood." I sat there stunned along with Rose and Alice. There wasn't much we could say to comfort him. I spoke up once more "Just take a few days Eddie, maybe go see the family up in Alaska? Just take a breather and come back clear-minded. If you need I can come with you." He shook his head "No I'll just be gone a few days, just stay here. I'll be okay once I feed."

 I still felt uneasy and a little hurt he didn't want me there but I understood he just needed some time to himself. I nodded and we didn't say anything else.
