[Tabitha's POV]
"What?" Callen looked disturbed.
I brushed up against him. I always figured Callen might be gay but he dated girls before so I didn't get why he was so awkward when I touched him, he should have got the picture, a girl was flirting with him, instead he looked warily at me, like I was going to bite him or something.
"Help me out this once?"
People watched me as slipped into the empty seat next to him and up against him. I wasn't supposed to be in this coach, so that would be one reason why, but I was pretty sure the new hiking clothes I bought were doing the trick as well. A short skirt and leggings, a light grey jacket and a light pink top, I absolutely hated the idea of hiking, but the outfit almost made it worth it.
"Why would I do that?" He questioned me bluntly, turning to face back toward his book. "You're not supposed to be switching seats." He glanced at me.
I held back the twitch of annoyance that tugged at my face.
"I'm just asking for a favour." I smiled at him. "I'll owe you one."
"I'm not that close to Akara, and I don't understand what you mean. Aren't you in set two for most classes?"
So he didn't know my name and I had to introduce myself twice, but he knew that I was in set two. Annoying twerp.
"You sit with him at lunch." I frowned at him.
I would have tried the other one, whatever his name was, the short Indian kid who kept getting into trouble with the prefects, but I couldn't find him, and even if I was sitting with friends I could tell people were curious why someone from lower sixth was in the elevens coach.
An Asian student I didn't recognise, who was friends with the prefect of year eleven, was also sitting in the coach, and people were leaning in to look at him like a star fell down for us to look at.
Anyway it made sense, that guy was drop dead gorgeous. I'd say hello to him later, I wasn't desperate like the others, I knewwhere my priorities lay, I'd never give up on having the best. But there was no reason not to have fun. Anyway I'd get through to him. This trip was it. I wasn't going to let go, I'd be the one girl that got through to him.
Anyway, I knew my friends looked at him too, they'd help me but they were secretly routing for me to fail, and knowing that spurred me on even harder, I wanted to see Jacob's expression change, look me up and down, realise how good I actually looked.
Callen just shrugged and looked down.
"Just go over to hang out with him, then take him over to us, Emily wants to talk to him, why can't you just do me- do her this favour? Do you like Emily?"
"No!" He looked a little put off. "Why does Emily want to talk to him?"
"What do you think?"
He stared at me for a moment, silent, then began to blush, god he was weird. "Oh." He seemed to be progressively getting redder the more he thought about it.
"So all I'm saying I want you to do is-"
"Why can't she just go to their group? Or get him from their group?"
"Because she wants to walk with him alone, and he might not come."
"Why wouldn't he come?" He turned to look at me oddly.
"You know how boys are..." I tossed my hair back, getting annoyed,
"Right..." He said slowly, frowning at me.
