[A/N] Almost Tuesday.... we're getting close ˗ˏˋ ⸜(˶˙ ᵕ ˙˶)⸝ˎˊ˗
I might have considered that I could explain why I made him continue his date with Tabitha despite how much he obviously hated that she was trying to force him around like his father. But from the look on his face I doubted he'd let me back out of my promise to him even when I did successfully explain why I'd made it.
I was slowly relaxing as we went from one shop to another, because as much as I didn't like Tabitha, I was beginning to accept the fact that she was by far the better choice over some other people.
I mean if she wanted to be with Jacob in any meaningful capacity she couldn't release any pictures she'd taken, or video, if that was what it was.
Then again... I watched her arm brush his and internally recoiled.
Would he fool for that? No, because... he liked certain things and... if she found out about those she would run like her life depended on it... Then again while it was hard to somehow part Jacob's controlling nature from the rest of him maybe he could do it, for peace with his father and the ability to bury our secrets.
Atlas grabbed her arm and pulled her sideways and she snapped her head up in shock.
He just smiled at her, the kind of smile that, if she wasn't a girl, might have been punctuated by a shove or something.
I snuck up behind them and grabbed his arm, watching Jacob raise an eyebrow from the side as he watched me pull Atlas back behind them, leaving him next to Tabitha.
"What're you doing?" Atlas asked, his eyes as accusative as his tone.
"Further back..." I mumbled, pulling him a bit further back so that they couldn't get close enough to hear even as Jacob slowed down.
"What the fuck are you doing idiot?" He looked irritated. "You know he hates that little brat, why are you making them hang out? And why did he listen? What is this?"
"I bargained for it." I whispered, watching her move closer again.
He could move away but he didn't, and the closer she got the more comfortable she seemed leaning into their space.
When we moved in one of the shops a security guard opened the door for them, clearly assuming they were a couple, and Jacob didn't seem too bothered, but with a vacant expression held the door open for her on the way out.
It made my chest squeeze with anxiety.
He looked even more confused, his dark eyes skipping over every inch of me. "Okay. Why?"
"I got a print out yesterday, of a picture taken from inside the stairwell, someone put it inside my locker."
"A picture..." He trailed off, blinking slowly and slowing down as well.
I pulled his arm to make sure he kept up with the pair ahead of us, Jacob's cold eyes glancing back at us as I leaned in to whisper to Atlas.
"A picture of what?" He stared at me, both eyebrows raised, perplexed and not at all as teasing as I'd expected them to be.
"Of us... Of me... It- Well it isn't clear but... if it's from a video, well it must be from a video, and the video would show us... together..." I coughed, my face red enough as it was.
He continued to blink slowly, then turned to look at me and suddenly narrowed his eyes. "This happened yesterday? So why the fuck didn't you tell us already? You keeping this as a surprise to tell me on my birthday or something?"
