[A/N] Sorry about the long delay guys, some chapter types take longer than others, namely spicy chapters. of which both HJSB and TPKJ were (I write four chapters ahead!) I'm alright! I forgot to check my message board, I will post TPKJ tomorrow!
I also have a short independent HJSB story which will be made available to everyone for 3 days but I couldn't finish it, I was struggling too much with the most recent chapter. So I will have to post this next update... that is to say... not so long from now... (¬////¬)
It was early in the morning and all three of us arrived together, nearly an hour before even the cleaners were due to arrive and only the first group of teachers were driving inside, coffees already in hand as they wrestled with sleep to make their way to an early meeting before school was due to start.
We didn't go through the main entrance. The school grounds had a number of cameras, maybe not as many as the school could afford but most of the important places were covered. So we entered through the back, the same way we'd left with Marsh.
"Alright!" Atlas stretched his arms up and rolled his shoulders. "What a great day for some schooling huh?"
"Stay focussed." Jacob warned him with a narrowed gaze. "You too." He added, passing a similarly suspicious gaze my way.
I waved my hand. "I always focus in school, it's kind of what I'm known for..."
He looked unimpressed as he took the white bag from my hands and stepped in close. "Tell us if anything happens. Immediately. You have no excuses left. Your phone is charged."
His voice was hard and cold and it made my neck feel hot. "Be good."
I ducked away from that warm chest and the smell of mint that was slowly becoming hard to breathe around nodded. "Uhuh... let's go..."
"Don't forget prefect," Atlas grinned at Jacob. "If he forgets how his tongue works this time you've got a whip waiting at his place for him."
He grinned but the smile didn't reach his eyes, instead something hard and intense hovered deep inside them, dark eyes drifting over me, it made my heart hammer away loudly in my chest.
While a deceptive smile made him look cheeky and warm, another part of him looked like he was sizing me up.
"You..." I pressed my lips together, glaring at him, my face hot.
Jacob raised a deadly brow.
I cringed. Two sides of the same coin. I thought as I gingerly stepped away from him too, eying him up and considering the consequences of saying something that would piss them off so early in the morning.
Jacob paused on Atlas for a moment, then glanced back down at me from the side, ice cold electric eyes that felt hard to look back at.
I opted against any jokes and instead let my ears burn as I looked away. "I'm not gonna do anything wrong..." I muttered. "Let's go already..."
Jacob nodded in Atlas's direction, and then the both of us set off.
The room was silent and empty as Jacob used his emergency key to let us inside.
The staffroom was fairly nice, heavy on the purple green colour scheme but otherwise relatively calm looking. There were six office spaces with computers and personal knickknacks, files and so on, two couches and a coffee table, a fridge, a toaster, a microwave and a coffee machine, most of the other things were cleared away in cupboards or the filing cabinets.
