[A/N] Sorry for being absent, I got fever. I am sweaty and mucosy and gross to look at. How lucky no one here has to look at me !
Can I still claim it's Tuesday? Technically not far from it now... (¬﹏¬)ˎˊ˗
I walked back home with a cold sweat that wouldn't seem to vanish, the more I thought about it the more I tried to convince myself that it wasn't the end of the world, that we could work this out, but I didn't really succeed, and the weight of the half-hearted print out folded in my bag felt like lead dragging behind me.
It wasn't even that it was humiliating, which sure, it was, but it was the sheer feeling of being wrenched out of what felt like was such a calm and comfortable dream, yanked from it back into the cold waters.
I forgot that reality existed, briefly.
Although I didn't know who put it in my locker I knew not to assume they hadn't already shared whatever video they had, and I couldn't pay up if they wanted some kind of money from me so the only thing I could concern myself with was how my family would feel if they found out.
What would Jacob's father do to him? And Atlas... were his parents okay with it? He didn't really speak about them but they didn't sound so bad, his sister was weird but that was about all I knew.
I was forgetting that it was three of us though, something that had begun to feel so strangely natural that it was hard to imagine anyone thinking it was odd.
I would have to move school.
The reaction the kids in the school would have to seeing another kid do something like that would not be wholesome, and I couldn't really blame them, while I probably wouldn't care enough to look at them weirdly I'd have definitely thought they were weird as hell in the past.
Either way I'd probably get suspended if not most likely kicked out. Jacob and Atlas's parents both had ties to the school management in some way, either through monetary charity or being on the school board, so they would have to suffer staying.
My mom and dad would be devastated.
The whole reason they worked this hard was so they could afford to live in this location, near the academy, so that I could qualify to go there. All their hard work and copious months at a time spent away from home living out of a suitcase wasted on me... and on top of that they'd find out that I was with two guys...
I had to crouch to breathe heavily three quarters of the walk home, my face was hot and flushed, my sweat cold.
But no amount of staring could get the gravel on the cement floor jump into action, to save me from this mess.
I tried not to think about it during dinner, but couldn't get myself to smile and it was obvious there was something up with how quiet and preoccupied I was.
"Hello, hello..." My mother sang, waving her hand in my face. "Pet wake up."
I blinked back into reality and accepted the spoon she was holding out for me with a sheepish look.
"Honestly what is the problem? Is your head hurting?"
Gift frowned, having been watching me for a while.
"Nong Pet's probably just tired from schoolwork. Right?"
I nodded quickly. "Yeah, yeah, tired."
He didn't seem pacified though, and seemingly mainly said this to get my parents to not pay too much attention. After dinner though he stopped me while I was brushing my teeth and asked bluntly if I was alright. I nodded, glad for the opportunity not to speak, and we went to bed in silence.
