[A/N] As always, sorry to be so late... I had a lot of writers block and ended up rewriting the chapter, I've linked a patreon chapter which will be available to the public for a week before being private to patrons to make up for the missing chapter last week!
As I've discussed with my patrons, I'm going to take a little break from my main stories for a week. So after I'm done posting TKPJ and FFD updates the next main story update will be on the 13th!
Then I can stop staring at these chapters with a microscopic lens all the time... (( 𖦹 〰 𖦹 ))
When I woke up it was late in the morning, I was so relaxed and comfortable I nearly thought I dreamed the night up. In fact my back didn't hurt at all, suspiciously, and instead I felt warm and cosy and although the eyelids flickered and my breathing quickened, consciousness returning to my limbs starting at my fingers and toes, the mind was reluctant.
I kept my eyes closed for a while, soaking up the feeling, and felt an arm move slightly underneath me, Atlas's arm. I had to admit the muscles were painfully sexy, and laying on them made it even harder to fail to acknowledge. While Jacob's slight minty, musky scent smelled like home, my nose brushing against his chest.
I felt his chest move too.
I realised slowly, but before either of them probably did, that all three of us were awake.
The sun had risen, I hadn't pulled the curtains closed before falling asleep to keep the streetlamp light out and so the morning sun hadn't been guarded from us either.
I pretended I didn't know and kept my eyes mostly closed. Don't let go.
I felt the kiss on my head a moment after it happened, for some reason shocked by the gentleness of it.
"Let him sleep." Came the rumble of Jacob, his morning voice lower than usual.
I could somehow feel Atlas rubbing his eyes beside me with one hand despite not seeing it. "I wanna go back to sleep..." His voice was a little rusty and low.
"Go on then. I'm not stopping you."
"No, the fucking sun is."
There was a pause. "I'm not moving."
"Didn't tell you to."
"We should be getting up anyway... the morning isn't for sitting around..."
Atlas scoffed audibly but softly. "I'm not getting up. Look at him hugging my arm." He snickered, it sounded mocking but it didn't feel that way. I felt a weird tickle in my heart as I heard them speak.
"Can you feel it?"
"Yeah, I mean there's some tingling going on but it's not numb. Is that water next to you?"
Jacob cleared his throat and turned his head, slightly shifting his body. "I don't know whose that is."
"Whose is it gonna be?"
I groaned under my breath. "It's Gifts..." I spoke, my voice low as well. "I used to have a bottle of coke by the bed but he wouldn't let me drink it in the bedroom..."
Between the three of us there was a moment of silence, none of us actually moved so we stayed snuggled in bed like we were fast asleep.
Then Atlas spoke. "Why is it in your bedroom though?"
"He sleeps here too..."
"Here?" Jacob asked, I looked up and saw him looking down at me. It was so hard to look at a face like that up close and not forget what you were talking about. The closer I got the better they looked, even if, the moment he awoke, he took on a sharper more eagle-eyed look.
