Chapter 31: Sound Check

3rd Person POV

"Paul, we need you!" Harry says as he walks up to Paul, who is sitting at the drivers seat of the bus, waiting for the boys before heading into sound check.

"Yeah, what's up?" Paul asks, as he looks up he sees that Harry looks scared and worried.

"Hazel has been having reoccurring dreams and now she has stopped talking. I think it might have something to do with this guy." Harry says as he shows Paul the picture of Joey that Hazel drew.

Although Hazel is 8 she is a good artist, maybe not the best, but it's certainly incredible the amount of detail she puts into her drawings.

"Hazel drew this and said it's her uncle Joey. I don't know but I think he knows she with us and I think he wants her. Paul, he was outside our window. He saw her. I'm scared." Harry continued as he starts to break down.

"Haz, c'mere." Paul says as he brings him into a hug. "She will be ok. She will be with someone the whole time. I will notify police and staff where ever we go. She'll be ok." Paul reassures him.

This calms Harry down a little but he is still worried for his little girl.

"Now, you guys need to head in for a sound check. I'll bring Hazel to the dressing room and stay with her the whole time." Paul says as he and Harry stand up to head back to everyone else.

"Ok, thanks Paul. Don't know what we'd do without ya." Harry admits, which makes Paul smile.

"C'mon everyone, let's get going before your all late to sound check." Paul says as he walks in.

Hazel is there gripping onto Liam's hand like her life depended on it as they leave the tour bus and into the building

They all walked into the building and right into the dressing room, as soon as they did the boys had to leave for sound check which Hazel didn't like.

"C'mon bug, let go of Daddy Li. He will be back soon." Louis tried to help Liam out but Hazel just shook her head and kept her legs and arms wrapped around him.

"Hazel, listen, your daddies will be right down the hall. You'll be with me and no one is aloud in here except me, Lou and your daddies. You can even watch them on this monitor we have." Paul says pointing to the monitor they decided to get instead of bringing Hazel out into the crowds every night.

Hazel loosed her grip but was still refusing to let go. Silent tears still streaming down her face.

"Liam we have to go. Just put her down on the couch she will calm down eventually." Zayn says to Liam.

They just got yelled at again for not being there yet, which pissed them off cause they are trying to help Hazel, they aren't worried about the show, right now, they are worried about Hazel. 

"Do you think you guys could do it without me. Just say I'm sick or something to the fans. Hazel needs me and I need to be that father figure she's never had." Liam told the boys.

"I'm not sure how management will react but we will insist on it." Niall says as they leave the room before they are yelled at again.

Liam sits down with Hazel on his lap, she is still silently crying so Liam just rubs her back trying to comfort her the best he can.

Paul takes a seat beside Liam, "That's good of you. You will and are going to be the best dads to her. I'll leave you two be." Paul says before he walks out to help with sound check since Liam is with Hazel.

The boys see Paul and have that look as if saying 'Are they ok?' Paul nods calming their nerves a little and watches them do their sound check.

They aren't as lively as they usually are doing sound check which is understandable since they are worried about Hazel.

Back with Liam and Hazel, all they are doing is snuggling. Hazel refusing to let go of Liam as if she moves away from him he will disappear.

"Sure have a snuggle bug today." Liam says aloud hoping he can get her to calm down or even talk to him.

Hazel only snuggles into him more, making Liam chuckle at her response.

"Your so cute." Liam says, rubbing her back and kissing her head of hair.

Hazel does nothing. It's really worrying Liam that she's not talking. So he takes a deep breath.

"I'm really proud of you!" Liam starts. "You are so brave and so strong, and you make me so happy when I see you smile. Whenever you give me your big hugs, and when tell me 'I love you'. You make me so so happy and what's happening is going to be fixed. We will try our best to give you the best life ever. I love you so so so much, and I want you to remember that." Liam says as he kisses her head.

"I love you too." Hazel whispered. It was barely even a whisper. Liam almost didn't hear it and Hazel is right by his ear.

After Hazel's small words she starts to cry again and Liam just keeps on comforting her until she is sound asleep.

Even though Hazel is asleep, Liam keeps a hold on her. Now he doesn't want to let go.

The boys walk in and see Liam sitting on the couch with Hazel sound asleep on his lap, her head resting on his shoulder and her legs wrapped around his waist, with Liam's strong arms wrapped around her small body. They look so cute that Harry takes a pic.

"How long has she been asleep?" Louis asks as he takes a seat beside Liam. "Not long, 10 minutes maybe." Liam says, still holding his baby in his arms.

"Did anything happen when we were gone?" Harry asks as he and Niall stand in front of Liam and Hazel, and Zayn takes a seat beside Louis.

"Actually yeah, I started talking just random stuff, one I was trying to relax her, and two, I was hoping for a little response. Anyway, I went on of how proud we are of her and how much we love her. At the end I said 'I love you' not expecting anything back but then she said 'I love you too' and I just wanted to scream." Liam went on, still cuddling Hazel in his arms who is starting to wake up.

"Oh my god, did she actually?" Niall asked, surprised. Liam nodded, "The thing is she was right by my ear and I barely heard it, she fell asleep right after." Liam told the boys.

"She is something special!" Zayn mumbled as all the boys agreed.

As Hazel woke up, her uncles words kept on replying in her mind.

Hazel opened her eyes, and looked around the room, then instantly hid her face in Liam's neck.

Liam rubbed her back and whispered reassuring words that she was ok.

Hazel soon came out of Liam's neck but still in his arms. She rubbed her red eyes, that were covered in tears.

"You ok petal?" Zayn asked over to his angel. She only shrugged, not speaking again.

"You know you can tell us anything, right?" Harry asked, still very anxious about the situation, Hazel just nodded. She knew she could, but she doesn't feel the need to.

"Well we better start getting ready for the show." Harry said as the 4 of them went to start getting ready for the show, leaving Hazel with Liam for now. Cuddling like before.
