Today was the first day of the rest of our lives. At least that is what Edith had read alone in the cold library of her house. Her parents didn't even bother on dropping her off at the station and wish her well in her first year at Hogwarts. Her house elf, Star, had brought her. Which was fun, who needs parents anyway.
Hogwarts is going to be her new home, she is going to make sure of it. The young firery haired girl hugs her small house elf goodbye before grabbing her enchanted backpack and walking towards the train. Platform 9 and 3/4 was full of students. Weather they are first years of seventh there is still an exited atmosphere on the station.
As Edith examined the red colored train she failed to notice a messy brown haired boy with round glasses walking her way. So the slammed right into each other.
"Oh merlin, I am so sorry!" The boy exclaims offering her a hand up which she takes gratefully.
"Its okay, I wasn't looking where I was going anyway." She says dusting herself off.
"Are you a first year?" The boy asks at which Edith nods. "Me too, we should sit together on the train!" He says excitedly.
"Yeah that sounds good." Edith says happily.
The boy holds out his hand to shake "My name is James Potter by the way." He says proudly.
"Edith Wheeler" She says shaking his hand and smiling at her new friend.
"JAMES YOU FORGOT YOUR OWL!" Says a rushing mother causing James to go bright red. "I will meet you in a compartment" he mutters before running to get the forgotten owl.
Edith walks down the narrow middle of the train and to her luck found an completely empty compartment. She chucks her bag in the overhead compartment before sitting down next to the window, watching as other boarded the train.
Fifteen minutes later James struts into the compartment with a boy trailing after him. He had long dark brown hair which was chin height and silver grey eyes which had a glint of mischief in them and a smirk on his face.
"Hey Edie!" James says sitting down opposite her. "Sorry it took us so long to find you, it is a massive train!" He sighs before turning to the other boy that had sat down next to him "Sirius this is Edith Wheeler, Edie this is Sirius Orion Black." James says introducing each other "I met her like five minutes ago as well." James says, proud of his new friends.
Sirius looks at the girl he now knows to be Edith Wheeler. Saying she is pretty is an understatement, she is absolutely stunning with ocean blue eyes and blazing ginger hair with an easy smile on her face. With slight freckles dusting over her nose.
"Nice to meet you Sirius." Edith says relaxing into her seat looking out the window.
"You too Edith" Sirius says a small smile playing on his lips as he throws his luggage onto the rails above.
The three started talking easily, bonding in five minutes like they had known eachother there whole life. They found out that James was a pureblood with Gryffindor parents, Sirius was also a pureblood with Slytherin parents and Edith was the third pureblood with two Ravenclaw parents.
After a while there is a slight knock on the door and two other boys enter the compartment, one with a book in his hands and scars across his face with hazelnut brown hair and amber eyes and is extremely tall. As the other wears a shy smile and is shorter then all of them with mousey light brown hair and light blue eyes.
"Hi, can we sit here everywhere is full?" The taller one asks politely.
"Sure" James answers grinning. The two boys sit next to each other by the compartments sliding door.
"I am Remus John Lupin " Remus says introducing himself with a small wave.
The small boy speaks up in a stutter "I'm- I am Peter Pettigrew."
James is the first to speak up "My names is James Potter the king of Quidditch, across from me is the beautiful Edith Wheeler and next to me is my buddy Sirius Black" He says extravagantly.
The five children settled into a easy chat with cheesy jokes and telling funny stories.

"We should form a club" James announces as the five step off the train onto the platform. They had all put on their new school uniforms and were heading towards the lake but hung back slightly so all of them could talk in peace.
"What?" Asks Remus.
"A brotherhood" James says turning to look at the rest of us.
Edith coughs slightly "Since when do I count as a boy?" She asks causing the four of them to burst out laughing.
"Fine then a family, a pact that will have each others back no matter what!" James says.
"Okay, now what do we do?" Peter asks.
"We change the world!" Sirius says throwing his hands about causing the boat to rock.
"Oh good, something simple!" Edith says sarcastically but still sharing a smile with her friends. She knew Hogwarts was going to be home, but she had no clue she was going to find a family with it.
