At the start of the war today was a happy day. They were going to make their it a happy day. Tomorrow they could worry today they can celebrate.
Edith rushes through the house in her new dress. Making sure to see James before the wedding. She knocks on James' bedroom door. It made sense for the wedding to be held at the Potter Family home the one were James himself grew up in. In the field were the marauders once played quidditch.

Sirius opens the door wearing a smart black tux.
"Wow Blue, you look...wow!" Sirius says trying to hide his blush.
"You look Pretty too Paddy." Edith smiles. As their lips connect sharing a soft kiss before Sirius lets Edith into the room. Seeing James sat their with Remus and Peter a crumbled paper in his hand practicing his vows.
"Don't you boys look smart." She jokes walking in.
"Y-you look pretty Edith." Stutters Peter a kind smile on his face.
"Thanks Pete, all Sirius could manage was 'wow'" Edith laughs.
"Edie..." Sirius moans holding his face in his hands.
"You!" Edith points at James. "Stand up! Let me check your outfit."
He stands up strait nervously fiddling.
"Stop that." Edith says basically slapping his hand before straiting his suit and putting a flower in his pocket.
"Do I look okay?" James asks.
"Okay? James I have seen Lily in her dress and she looks stunning, like drop it dead gorgeous, so do you so pull yourself together and For Merlins sake please stop fiddling." Edith says rolling her eyes. "Now go wait for her at the end on the aisle."
"Wait before I go, can I have a word with all of you." He ask half in half out the room.
"Sure mate." Remus says leaning on the bed frame.
James leans against the wall a smile on his face. "What can I say?" He says looking between the people he has grown up with. Edith Wheeler he had met her first her sassy attitude and bumping into her sparked a friendship between them. Sirius Black his Best man, his brother. The man he would trust with anything. Remus Lupin the shy werewolf who is actually really good at pranks and always has his back. Lastly Peter Pettigrew a quite boy, not the brightest but has a big heart.
"You really are there for me." He sighs looking between his friends "Never on time, usually looking like a pile of sh*t." He says causing all of them to laugh "But never or less your there. Without you guys I don't know what I would do. So thank you." He say quietly.
Edith is the first to move in hugging him tight the rest of them join in. A group hug something they haven't shared in a long time. Once they release him. They can see happy tears in all of their eyes. "Go get her tiger!" Edith says causing all of them to laugh.

"How do I look?" Lily asks smoothing down her long white dress.
"Like a princess, I have just have had the same conversation with James. Lily you are drop dead gorgeous. Are you ready to be James' wife?" Edith asks a smile on their face.
"Of course." Lily says smiling.
"Then I will see you down there." Edith smiles at Lily and slips out of the room and heads to the field.
Edith walks down the isle and goes to stand next to Sirius. James insisted that it is unfair he only got to chose one best man so he chose Edith as his best women, Remus as his bestfriend and Peter as his best brother. So that they could all stand with him as they are married.
Edith takes Sirius's hand and squeezes it. Causing Sirius to look up and smile at Edith trying to hide the small square box in his pocket. James had given him the idea to propose today. So he was going to. Although he kept it between just him and James. Naturally.
Lily steps onto the isle arm in arm with her dad. Her fiery red hair braded to the side and her green eyes shining with happiness her dress flowing in the wind her cheeks red and a smile on her face. James grins at her widely as soon as they made eye contact. It was their moment and the Marauders couldn't have been happier.
"You may kiss the bride" Slughorn states. Lily chose him to be the person who married them even though James misbehaved in most of his classes.
It was official. Mr and Mrs Potter.
"Hey Darling?" Sirius asks leading her over to the dance floor where Lily and James had already dances. "Care to give me the honor of being your first dance of the evening?" He asks charmingly bowing and kissing her hand.
Edith and Sirius danced like they were the only people there. Edith with her arms around his neck and Sirius with his arms around her waist. Eventually all the marauders danced together. It was odd that one of the darkest times in the world could end up being one of their happiest days.
"Come on, lets go somewhere." Sirius says leading her to a little flower patch at the back of the Potter's house. Candles were quickly lit with a flick of a wand and Sirius stood in the middle.
"Edith Wheeler." He says getting onto one knee pulling out a red velvet box inside was a plane ring no diamonds or crystals but on the inside was a carving note saying 'I love you forever- Your Paddy' "I love you, I love you when you smile, I love the little glint in your eyes when you cause trouble, I love you more then anything or anyone in the world. I know it is not the perfect time in our lives. There is a war and it is not going to end any time soon. But I know for sure that I will fight. For you. Fight for our future because without you I am nothing. I guess what I am trying to say is, will you marry me?" Sirius asks down one knee a smile on his face and tears in his eyes his hair messy around his face.
Edith nodded her head tears on her cheeks "Yes." She says Sirius stands up slipping the ring onto her hand before picking her up and twirling her round and round before hugging each other tightly.
"I love you Paddy, forever and always." Edith whispers holding him close.
"I love you to Edith Wheeler, forever and ever." Sirius says his head on her shoulder.
"But one more thing Sirius." Edith says.
"Anything Edie." Sirius replies.
"I don't want a wedding." She says causing Sirius to lift his head and cradle it in his hands. "I don't need it to prove our love. It is just me and you. Forever."
"Whatever you want Darling." He says kissing her forehead. "Cause we are forever."
