Edith could never understand why two smart Ravenclaws like her parents couldn't understand their teenage daughter. But yet here they stand arms crossed as she enters the house in trousers and a shirt with her house elf Star.
"I trust you got my letter" Her mother says to her no 'How are you?' kiss your *ss nothing. Her mother is a Ravenclaw like her father both from rich families and a long line of Ravenclaws. The whole family expected the best from them and if they had a child for it to be male.
Edith was female. But then they prayed that she would bring pride to the family, but then she got bitten by a wolf-shifter who lost control. Her parents were furious with her. Then last but not least she got sorted into Gryffindor and made non-pureblood friends. That is when they decided to ignore her all together. They tried for another child but were unable to have one. Of course Edith was blamed for that too.
Edith nods before going upstairs to her plain room which she hates so much. The girl kept on telling herself it was only six weeks but she knew it would just get worse and worse. Especially when she has to shift on the full moon.
Two weeks in and she already missed her Hogwarts family, Sirius's snarky remarks, Remus's worrying and reading, Peter's calm attitude and peacefulness and James's silly antics. All she wanted is to be back at Hogwarts at home with her friends.
So you can imagine her surprise when on Christmas morning she was called down to have breakfast with her parents. She purposely puts on her Gryffindor jumper and leggings just to spite them.
Edith left her bedroom knocking on Star's door as she went to give her some food.
"Hello Master Edith!" The house elf says cheerfully opening her door.
"Hey Star, just wanted to give you some food and say Merry Christmas!" She says smiling at the small elf.
"Oh, Master Edith shouldn't have, Master Edith is too kind." The house elf states trying to hand it back.
"Nonsense Star," Edith says passing it back to her "Your the only one I actually like in this big house" She says smiling kindly at the elf.
"Master Edith shouldn't say that other Masters would be mad." Star states staring down at her booted feet. Unlike other households Edith's parents decided that their elf should wear proper work clothes and only be freed when given normal clothes.
"I couldn't care less Star" Edith says walking towards the door "Have a good Christmas!" She says warmly to the elf before closing it.
Edith hadn't seen her parents since she arrived she even had to shift and hide in her room on a full moon so they wouldn't know.
"There you are!" Her father says angrily as she enters the room.
"Merry Christmas to you too!" The girl says grabbing herself something to eat from the cupboards.
"Don't be so ungrateful you little brat!" Her mother says swinging the girl around and forcing he to look at the pair with a quick spell, while the girl struggles.
"You know we put our highest hopes in you that you would change." Her mother says sighing acting disappointed "But your still the wild child that you have always been."
"Please, you act like I am mad, look in the mirror!" The girl talks back she doesn't know what has gotten into her it just flies out. Her mother looks absolutely furious.
"Don't talk back to your mother you Freak!" Her father says standing up from her chair.
"Please..." The girl whimpers as her father approaches her "I...I didn't mean to" a tear trickles out the girls eye as a wand is placed to her throat.
"Crucio!" Her father says causing a green light to shoot out of his wand and wrap its self around the girl scorching her skin like its on fire.
"That should teach you!" Her mother chuckles walking out the room.
The girl cries not daring to move, that was the first time her parents used dark magic on her, sure before there where a couple of hexes but nothing more than that.
It wasn't the last time the mother and father used dark magic on her that Winter. And Edith had no where to escape to. She just wishing she could go back to Hogwarts.
