Early the next morning Edith and Moony shifted back and Sirius wasn't there. Which was strange, maybe he was cooking breakfast. So Edith and Remus walked up to the house talking in a fairly good mood. That is when they noticed the front door was open.
"Wands at the ready." Remus says and they both raise them walking into there home. They went to the kitchen. Looking around cupboards had been flung open and left like it. But nothing had been damaged.
"Edith" Remus says quietly. Pointing at the calendar which is now red. A sign of Danger for the Potters. And on the table was a scruffy written note.

Edith gasps leaning on the table. Tears glint in her eyes threatening to rise the surface. Remus looks downfallen staring at the table. Edith lets her mind race.
"I am going to check it out" Edith says pulling a coat over her rugged clothes.
"No Edie, it is not safe." Remus calls reaching for her.
Edith pulls on her shoes walking out the front door. "Stay here Remus, Get some sleep"
With that she apperate to the Potter's street. When she sees a crowd of wizards forming outside it she knows something is terribly wrong and starts running.
She runs into the crowd, pushing her way past them and into the house. Nothing could prepare her for what hey eyes saw. Shock and disbelief filled her bones. No way. There was no way.
She could not save her friends. She was to late.
Because there at the bottom of the stairs in his favorite Gryffindor PJs was James Potter. Lifeless. Eyes lolling back into his head.
"No, no, no, no!" The girl shouts tears pooling out of her eyes "Sh*t!" She shouts falling to her knees next to James. Head in her hands. She stayed like this for a few minutes. Until she heard a bunch of popping from outside. She felt someone shaking her shoulders big hands.
"Come on now! Get up." Says a stern voice.
"Minnie." Says the girl sadly. As her old Professor pulls her up into a hug before dragging her outside.
She sees a bundle in her old headmaster's arms. "Harry, Harry, Harry." She calls breaking herslef free from McGonagall to get to the young boy.
"I am sorry Edith, but you can't have him." Dumbledore says holding the boy away.
"Why not he is my god child!?" Edith says outraged tears streaming down her face.
"He will be saver, there and people looking for him." Dumbledore says calmly placinng a hand on the girls shoulder. Before walking off.

Edith Wheeler sits on the Potter's wall. Thinking. If she had been here none of this would have happened. But she couldn't because she was a wolf-shifter.
"Edith!" Sirius calls. She turns around smiling slightly. Sirius is running up the street frantic. This makes Edith's smile drop.
Behind him many pops can be heard wizards from the ministry chasing after him.
"Edith" Sirius says quickly embracing the love of his life. She hugs him back crying into his hair.
The wizards surround the pair. "Sirius Black you are under arrest for giving away the Potter's hiding spot to You Know Who, and for single handedly killing Peter Pettigrew and 11 muggles"
"No. No. No!" Edith cries trying to grip him harder.
"Shh it is okay darling, it's okay. I will make my way back to you. Always." He says letting go tears in his eyes. A weak smile on his face. "I love you" He says before turning around with his hands up. Letting his wand fall to the floor. The ministry grab hold of him from all angles.
"Paddy, I love you too!" Edith shouts as her partner, the one she thought would never leave her is dragged away. Cuffed. Wand snapped. And handed to dementors.
Edith falls to her knees as he disappears. Suddenly a pop from near her catches her ears. A tall man with a growing moustache and shaggy hair. In a knitted jumper and scares of his face. He falls down next to her. Tears in his eyes. Hugging her tightly as they both cry.
