niamh's pov:
I began making the cappuccino that Leah had ordered for her mum, trying not to cock it up but, in all fairness, I was very rusty on my coffee skills but (not blowing my own trumpet) it came out quite good to be honest. Mainly trying not to cock it up as it's usually my mum on coffees and hers are truly unmatched and I didn't want Leah and her family leaving disappointed. She probably wouldn't even come in again, which is something I didn't want.
I shook my head at my ridiculous thought, Niamh, stop being a pussy! She's a customer. A very talented and famous and beautiful and funny customer but, still, a customer at that. I reached for a tray underneath the counter as my mother appeared from the cellar and spotted Leah's mum in an instance and rushed over to embrace her. What's my own mother doing hugging Leah Williamson's mum?
Weird.
I watched from the counter as the pair talked, laughed and smiled at one another until my mum came over with a bag of necessities she had brought up from downstairs. I always made her go to the cellar due to the nightmares it would likely give me. Don't criticise, it's a VERY dark and eerie place down there with no lights on by yourself.
As my mother walked over and observed what I was doing for a suspiciously long amount of time, I looked up to see her staring down at me, "Everything okay mother?" I spoke, trying not to laugh in the process.
"Just checking you've still got it" She said with a cheeky smile on her face as she moved herself over to the fridge and got the two diet cokes out of the fridge that Leah had ordered. I squinted my eyes in confusion, yet it seemed to go unnoticed by my mother as she spoke up, "I see you finally met our special visitor, quite the surprise eh?"
"No. Not at all." I deadpanned, before chuckling and whispering in the hopes Leah wouldn't see me in such a fluster, "You could have mentioned she was a gooner! The fittest gooner at that too!"
My mother just stood there and pretened to look schocked at the entire thing, "Me? I knew nothing about the scheme."
Scoffing, I spoke "As if."
I placed the cappuccino on the tray with the diet cokes and two brownies and braced myself for yet another interaction with Miss Leah Williamson herself. Inhaling and exhaling deeply seemed to keep my nerves at bay most of the time so I repeated this until I felt calm enough to go over.
When I did, Leah tilted her head up from her phone which seemed to be full of notifications and she smiled at me once again. That's a lot of notifications, fuck me.
That smile. I thought to myself as I smiled gently back and placed the tray onto their table and gave them each their drinks. "And the brownies?" I questioned, seen as there was three of them and only two brownies.
"They're for the two children sat here" Leah's mum joked, waggling her finger between her two children sat opposite one another.
I simply laughed before placing the brownies in front of Leah and her brother as they both smiled and said their "thank you's".
"Anything else I can get for you?" I spoke, still holiding the long gaze between Leah and I. A choir of "I'm alright thank you"'s followed as I began to walk away back to the counter, finally breaking away from Leah's gaze.
