"You know, I made a promise to myself a year ago that I'd never fall in love again." Niamh spoke as Leah tilted her head to position her ear at Niamh's mouth to ensure she could hear her words.

As the sun descended down into the azure blue sea and dawned over a beautiful day, Leah and Niamh were located in their room, getting ready for their night out. Leah had made her way out of the shower and made a start on her outfit, mirroring Niamh who was already half way through her 'getting ready' process.
The pair decided to keep it slightly casual due to the number of 'flashy' evenings they had already seen in the past week. Niamh decided to wear a pair of ripped, denim shorts with a gold belt, with a strappy vest top to match. Leah made the choice to wear her baggy, white trousers with a green crop top to pair.
"You look great, my love." Leah said to Niamh, as she snaked an arm around her girlfriend's waist as they grabbed their bags and shut their apartment door.
Niamh said nothing but pecked Leah's lips gently as the two made their way toward their table for the evening, one in which was a surprise for Leah after the Euro squad had been announced on social media that day. Unbeknown to Leah, Niamh had arranged a private table at the pair's gorgeous hotel, accompanied by a bottle of champagne to celebrate Leah's achievements.
Hand in hand, Niamh led Leah to their table and, as it came into view, a grin spread on Leah's face and laughed softly to herself, "Niamh-"
Before Leah could finish, Niamh spoke, "Before you say anything about the fact I didn't have to do this," She began, mocking Leah playfully, "You deserve this more than anyone and I wanted to give you a little something to show how proud I am."
"I love you." Leah said, bringing Niamh into her side before pulling her chair out for her to sit on, as the two poured champagne.
"To the love of my entire life, who's now leading her team to greatness. Forever loving you." Niamh smiled, raising a toast.
Leah grinned and clinked their glasses together before taking a sip and simply taking in her surroundings. The perfect girl, within the perfect place; Leah couldn't be happier.

Leah and Niamh smiled at the comments that rolled in on the post, until Niamh stopped and exhaled deeply. Leah placed her phone down and turned to Niamh with a concerned expression, "You alright?"
Niamh nodded before saying, "Yeah, yeah. It's just hard when there's so much speculation on us. Sometimes I feel like we shouldn't have even gone public in the first place." She finished before widening her eyes realising what she had said, "Oh my god, no no no, that is not what I meant, I-"
She was cut off by Leah, "Niamh. I get you. I feel the same way sometimes. People can't help but stick their noses in our business and, even if we went publicly public, people would still have stuff to say." Leah laughed, finding humour in the situation, causing Niamh to smile.
Niamh laughed before Leah grabbed her hand and stroked it softly, "Me and you forever, remember?"
"Always." Niamh smiled, before looking around at where she was once more, feeling nothing but serenity and peace as she did so.
As the sound of the waves crashing onto the shore echoed between the pair, Niamh took a sip of her drink, "I'm gonna miss this place."
"Same here." Leah replied, matching her down tone.
"Think about it though Leah, you're going back to captain your team to victory. That's pretty fucking awesome." Niamh exasperated.
"Slow down there, we haven't won." Leah said.
"Yet." Niamh finished with a wink.
Leah giggled at Niamh, but soon took her words seriously; Leah wanted nothing more than to do well within the tournament. Whether that be to win the entire thing, or play the games they could, with precision and skill. Yet, deep down inside, Leah burned for that title of 'European Champions'; the history makers. Nothing was going to stop the team from doing what they do best. Most of all, nothing was holding these girls back from being the future that so many young, female footballers needed. Absolutely nothing.
