wembley stadium, london

As the sun descended down onto Wembley, the stadium began filling with both English and German fans to witness what could be a defining moment for women's football across the globe. The Yates and Williamson families found their seats, all dressed in England kit and, of course, with the Williamson name on their shirts. Unlike usual games, they'd all made more of an effort in themselves, partially due to the fact they needed a distraction from the nerves they were all feeling that morning.

flashback:

Niamh finalised her makeup with a slight gloss onto her lips as her hair sat below her chest, almost placed perfectly on her body. She gazed at her reflection in the mirror, looking at Leah's shirt which hugged her figure tightly as it tucked into her jeans in which was looped with a gold belt and paired with Leah's Nike trainers.

Just as she was to turn off her ring lights, an echo of her ringtone was to be heard in which caused Niamh's head to turn down to look at the caller. A grin spread onto her face as she picked up her phone and propped it up in front of her.

"Alright." The voice of Leah could be heard from the speaker as she mirrored Niamh's grin, seeing her girlfriend in her kit, "Nice shirt."

"It was kindly gifted." Niamh smiled sarcastically before speaking again, "How you feeling my star?"

"Nervous. Really nervous." Leah answered truthfully as she ran a hand through her hair and leant on the window of the bus.

"That's expected, Leah. Just like everyone else I assume?" Niamh asked, now taking a serious tone.

"The bus has never been so quiet." Leah laughed softly.

The two just looked at one another lovingly before the face of Ella Toone popped up behind Leah, scaring them both, "Hi Niamh." Ella muttered playfully.

With a slight jump Niamh smiled, "Hello Tooney. You alright?" She said with a giggle.

"Dead nervous but, yeah, tryna keep positive." Ella said, resting on top of the seat, her Mancunian accent powering through.

"I know you'll do absolutely brilliant. Bet you'll even bag a goal." Niamh winked, her slight Manchester accent now showing.

"Woah woah woah, Niamh you sound like me?" Ella laughed, "Are you from Manny?"

Niamh laughed loudly until replying, "No, I lived up there for a few years though, picked up the accent unfortunately." She finished sarcastically.

Ella pulled a playful shocked face, "Niamh Yates, how dare you insult my culture. On that note, I'm chuffing out of here losers." Ella sulked in a jokey way, giving Niamh the middle finger as she did so.

Niamh and Leah laughed again until they turned back at each other, "Show me your full outfit then." Leah said.

Niamh turned her camera around to face the mirror so it highlighted every aspect.

Leah's eyes widened and her lips spread into a smile, "As always, looking gorgeous." She said before pausing, still studying Niamh's choice of clothing, "I see my trainers."

"The ones you wore when I first met you." Niamh finished with a small smile.

"I love you." Leah said, gazing at Niamh as she did the same.
