"You'd be the reason I succeed." Leah said, edging closer toward Niamh as she moved to wipe away her tears.

Niamh stepped back and placed her hand on top of Leah's to move it away from her face.

"Leah please. Don't." Niamh said, salty tears still briefly running down her face as she was in such a state of denial and stubbornness that she couldn't give in to Leah. However, all she wanted to do was let Leah take her into her arms and cradle her so tight that all of her worries melted away.

Leah's eyebrows pulled up in a hurt and solemn expression in response to Niamh's actions. She caught onto Leah's feeling of hurt which only caused Niamh to hate herself more.

"I'm so sorry, Leah. Please. Just- just, please." Niamh begged, an apologetic look sprawled across her face as she gazed into Leah's sad eyes.

Leah stared at the broken girl in front of her before muttering a loud and annoyed, "Whatever, Niamh. Text me when you're head's screwed on." before turning her back and walking away with Bella, whose head kept turning round to look at Niamh as she moved further into the distance.

Niamh's tears began to fall even heavier than before as she watched Leah walk away and, soon enough, fade out of view. Niamh turned her body and walked briskly toward her house that now sat close to her.

As she arrived at the door, she knocked gently and was greeted by her sister's smiling face until she saw her elder sister's expression. Her smile fell before she engulfed Niamh into a tight hug and asking "What's happened?"

"Leah." Was all Niamh said before entering her warm house, feeling the heat smashing across her face as soon as she walked in.

Niamh had explained to Hattie all that happened, how she felt and asked her advice on if she was doing the right thing. The sisters were laid on Niamh's bed; Niamh with her head on Hattie's lower stomach as she stroked her hair softly with her arms wrapped gently around her frame. The sound of 'Love Actually' playing in the background until Hattie continued their conversation,

"Niamh. Don't let that prick of an ex-boyfriend get in your head. What he said to you was nothing but a drunken lie" Niamh was about to interrupt before she finished, "And don't even say that 'drunk words are sober thoughts' because his words deserve to be put in the bin and burnt. To a crisp." Hattie spoke, continuing to move her fingers through Niamh's soft hair.

Niamh sighed in response until she wearily spoke once more, "I don't want to hurt Leah, I really dont, Hattie. But I can't bring her down with me."

"What do you mean 'with you'?" Hattie asked, sitting up to cause her sister to do the same so she could look at her face in annoyance, "Niamh, there is absolutely nothing fucking wrong with you, you're incredible. Anyone would be lucky to fall in love with you."

Niamh watched her sister speak such wise words, "Hattie, look at me. As if Leah would want this on her hands."

"For fuck sake Niamh! You're not a liability! You're not a problem! And you're certainly not baggage! You're none of that shit! You're the most selfless, kind, loving, beautiful, funny and immense person I know. You've inspired me ever since we were little to always strive for my dreams and to never give up. To see the bright side of life, to be honest, strong-willed and tough. To stick up for myself, to not take anyones shit and if it weren't for you, Niamh, I have no idea what I'd do. Seriously."
