The morning of Leah's birthday had rolled around so quick, Niamh had felt it was only a blink since she'd first thought about it all those weeks ago. However, here she was: wide awake in preparations for Leah's surprise, before she'd even awoke yet.

Niamh, Amanda, Jacob, David, Lisa, Mick, Hattie and Theo were all sneaking around the Williamson house in order to set all of Leah's surprises and presents for her 25th birthday. As Amanda and David were finalising the preparations, Niamh and Jacob perched themselves on the sofa, sleepily, as they watched the two tidy up their mess they had created in the process.

"Jesus I am tired." Niamh emphasised the last word, fatigue beaming through her voice as she turned over her phone to view the time which displayed 07:01am.

"Tell me about it. She better be bloody grateful after all this." Jacob said, rubbing his sleep-filled eyes.

"She will be." Niamh smiled.

Niamh had come up with the idea of saying nothing about Leah's birthday: no plan-making, no talk of presents, parties nothing. She figured that Leah would be happiest when she expects nothing in which was exactly what she anticipated when she woke up that morning.

Without Niamh by her side, she would immediately know something was going on, so Niamh decided to cosy back up in bed with her girlfriend after she'd spent the last hour downstairs in preparations.

Feeling the warmth of her girlfriend's body, she wriggled herself into Leah's grasp and let herself relax into her. She was so utterly pleased with herself, her family and Leah's family for being so wonderful with her idea.

The remaining Yates had made themselves comfortable downstairs in the back room, somewhere Leah wouldn't see them when she came down. Whereas the Williamsons clambered on into bed for an extra hour until Leah would awaken.

Niamh let those butterflies consume her once more, as they often did these days, as she heard Leah's soft breathing continue as they slept embraced with one another. She couldn't contain her excitement with what she had planned for the day and night ahead...

10:30am

Niamh was awoken to the sound of hurried footsteps cautiously making their way down the stairs, in some sort of attempt to be quiet. However, Niamh only picked up on it because she knew exactly what was going on, whereas Leah lay sound asleep; hair softly falling across her face as her chest rose when she breathed.

Niamh brushed a hand over her girlfriend's hair-covered face in which caused her to stir awake,

"Hello sleepyhead." Niamh whispered, her lips inches away from Leah's, "Happy birthday, Lee."

Leah smiled into a delicate kiss as she whispered, "Thank you, I love you."

"To the stars and back." Niamh finished before a large crashing noise erupted from downstairs which caused both girls' eyes to widen and heads to shoot up.

"What was that?" Leah asked, resting herself on her elbows.

Niamh simply brought her hands to her face in annoyance at the fact her family couldn't keep quiet for once. She sighed heavily before placing her hands on Leah's face, "You'll find out soon enough."
