"So, Niamhy," Leah began, finishing with a deep breath before turning to look at Niamh whose eyes were spilling tears.

She grabbed her hand and opened the velvet box with the other, "Will you marry me?"

Niamh stood there in utter shock, tears streaming down her face, her mouth gaped open wide and her heart pumping out of her chest. Her breathing was quick and unsteady, yet not in the negative way people are so quick to associate it with, but the kind in which you feel when you have butterflies within your stomach. Yet Niamh did not only have butterflies within her stomach, but swarming her entire body, so much so she thought she'd explode.

The world had seemed to freeze when Leah finished speaking. The, once soaring stadium now erupting with a deafening silence, as Niamh's life stopped. Her brain, along with her entire existence, seemed to freeze up for a mere few seconds (so little that nobody even noticed) until the electricity flooded back through.

There Leah was, down on one knee, the velvet box open in her hand revealing a stunning ring, glistening brightly. Niamh locked eyes with Leah's, whose had been glued to Niamh during her entire speech, and smiled a toothy grin. With tears continuing to stream down her face, Niamh giggled softly before moving closer to Leah.

Removing her hand from her mouth, she smiled deeply and gazed at Leah. With a large exhale, Niamh muttered, "Yes. A thousand times yes!" She laughed.

The pitch was submerged with noise once again as the team (alongside staff and family) jumped with glee, as Leah engulfed Niamh in one of the tightest hugs she'd ever given. Niamh let out a small sob into Leah's shoulder, as her eyes, too, began to fill with the salty liquid. As the two removed their arms from one another, their contact remained prominent, as Leah took the simply elegant piece of jewellery from its box and slid it onto Niamh's finger with no struggle.

Niamh peered down at her finger and laughed with tears once more, "It's perfect."

"I had a bit of help." Leah winked, signalling to Amanda and Lisa who stood with their arms around one another, crying too.

Niamh's mouth dropped again, "You knew?!" To which she received nods of laughter, "You bitches!" She giggled.

Before the two could think of doing anything more, Leah was surrounded by her teammates who all enveloped her in a huge hug, whilst Niamh was bombarded with the limbs of Holly and Hattie, alongside Mick and David.

Gripping onto arms who she couldn't even place to an owner, Niamh and Leah took in the moment they were in; pure perfection with those that make them happiest.

In that moment, nothing, nor nobody, could take away either of the girl's happiness.

After hours of utter joy, laughter, tears, smiles, and even more tears, Wembley began to clear out. Everyone within the seats had gone home or, in some cases, were waiting outside for the players. Much to Niamh's delight, the only people remaining were staff, players, the press and family.
As the group waited for the team to finish their extremely long 'changing room celebration', Niamh opened her phone, gazing at her pictures from the pitch and just the day as a whole. Scrolling away, she only pulled her head up when she felt a shoulder next to her.
