There was an explosion sound they all heard before the Montrail suddenly shook.
"What was that?"
"It sounded like an explosion."
Violet stood up from the seat, gripping her hand on the seat beside her as she looked out the windows. "It's too dark." It was pitch dark out while they were all bright in the monorail.
"I don't think it was near us." Darius turned around, trying to keep everyone calm and hopeful. "We're okay. We're still okay."
The hope that everyone previously had has now shattered. They all had doubt written over their faces and it was also quiet now.
Sammy looked up from her juice box. "I know camp wasn't what we thought it was gonna be. But after everything we went through, at least we're leavin' this place with seven new friends! To the eight of us being best friends for life!" She held her juice box up but no one else had done the same, not sharing the same enthusiasm as her.
Violet had a shut smile, "If we all make it out of here alive."
Darius looked at the juice box, reading it. "No added sugars huh."
Yasmina was staring off into space.
"Guys. Hello?" Sammy tried to get their attention. "Wait, do you guys not see us as friends?"
"I mean..." Brooklynn looked at the ground with a sigh. "Doesn't it usually take more than a few days to become friends with someone?"
Violet furrowed her brows, talking to herself. "How many days has it been?"
"We were thrown together at random. We have nothing in common." Yasmina admitted.
Sammy looked at them all, seeing that they were agreeing with each other. "That's not true. We've been through more together than most friends have in a lifetime." However, everyone was from different parts of the world.
While Sammy was trying to convince them otherwise, Violet laid back on the seats. Her legs were near the window as her head was near the walkway to look at them all. This was one of the few times that they hadn't had to constantly run away from danger. These seats may have not been comfortable but anything would work at this moment. It felt good to just lay there and relax.
Yet none of her thoughts were relaxing. If the dinosaurs didn't get them then maybe the train will explode. It seemed like the world was against them. They were all just kids and they were stuck on an island full of dinosaurs.
