At the end of the day, the two girls had made it back to camp. Violet and Brooklynn took care of giving Sammy the antidote, so all everyone could do was wait.
So, they waited and waited as Sammy laid there with the loss of her skin color.
Coughs came out from Sammy's mouth, grabbing everyone's attention. Her eyes opened. She looked at everyone but stopped on Violet, who stood beside Yasmina. Everyone waited for her reaction or response or anything that came from their injured friend.
"Violet? How are you still standing? Didn't you ride the Scorpios rex?"
Violet smiled in relief at seeing the girl awake. She kneeled down to her with a chuckle, "More like I kicked it and stood on it for a good second before getting tossed around. I have the back of an old man by now."
"Better than getting eaten by it." Connor raised his voice from afar and then muttered to himself, "Dumbass."
Violet scoffed at him, "Like you haven't done crazier things."
"I haven't." Connor expressly stated this to her because he believed that Violet might just be the craziest of the bunch.
Sammy was smiling as she looked at everyone. Then the one whom she had previously gotten into a small argument with. Yasmina was worried but didn't know how to approach after their last encounter.
Violet looked between the two, sensing the tension. No one wanted to speak first... more so, they didn't know how to.
So, Violet put her hand on Yasmina's shoulder while looking and speaking to Sammy, "You know...your crazy bff risked everything to get that antidote."
Sammy couldn't wait to give Yasmina a hug. "Thanks for saving me."
Now, everyone was all circled around Sammy, talking and making sure she was okay.
"I'm glad you're okay." Kenji walked up to the girls, talking to Sammy. "And if you ever need a cow again, you know where to find me."
Then he walked away without a word.
"Cow?" Violet raised a brow at him in confusion. "Did I miss something?" She looked over at Connor, who didn't try hard to hold his laugh in.
Connor walked up closer to Violet and lightly elbowed her, "One word." He leaned closer to her in a low voice, "Mooo."
Kenji, who had walked away, froze in terror having flashbacks and turned to Connor with a look on his face.
"Wait, what does that mean?" Violet raised her voice as she looked between the two boys before jogging to catch up with Kenji. "Guys, I don't get it. I want to laugh too."
