Today was the day that they were going to finally leave the island.
Try to, at least.
Yesterday was the same day they were going to leave the island and the day before and the week before.
But today was the day.
"Leave the island."
The group of kids said that each time they tried to leave, which ended up never happening. Today, their attempt was to use a raft. A raft could only fit so many people, let alone two particular dinosaur friends. Bullet may have been tiny in comparison to Bumby, but Violet understood that the island was the best place suited for a compy. She also really thought that he needed friends because he was clingy.
So, that was the plan. Leaving Bullet and Bumpy on the island because that was their home.

Present,
Behind the massive rocky boulder hid a girl who just pushed a compsognathus out from hiding. Violet Myers crouched behind the boulder while waving her hands at Bullet. Her head motioned at the group of compys just a bit further from her hiding spot. She wasn't trying to go through the trouble of possibly being eaten alive by an army of chihuahua dinosaurs.
Bullet stood out, beside the boulder. He only stared at the human and then walked forward, back to his human. He jumped up onto her leg but Violet grabbed him to set him back onto the ground.
"No, you're not a kid anymore, Bullet. You've grown and your little leg is perfectly fine. You even have very sharp teeth now. Much sharper than the kittens I've gotten jumped by." Violet gave him a smile before pushing him away from the boulder once again to try and get him to be friends with his own kind. "Now, go home. You'll be fine without me. Not that this is me trying to get rid of you..."
Bullet only stared at her. Not that he understood anything. Or said anything back. Bullet then perked his head and leaped forward to her but Violet had to be careful with his energetic self. Sharp nails and teeth came with compys.
She had moved her hands aside before nearly being scratched in the process, "Okay, maybe I am trying to get rid of you. It's for your own good, I promise."
Violet saw that Bullet's head turned towards the group of compys that now saw him. She went to hide a bit more beside the boulder as she peeked her head from the back.
Bullet was getting curious about the other compys now.
Bullet started jumping around all excited then hopping and leaping everywhere.
Violet found a little bit of warmth at seeing Bullet excited about being around his own kind. She watched as another compy walked towards him and then it circled him before lightly pressing its own body against him and-
She quickly shut her eyes at what happened next, covering her face with her right while whispering to herself, "Yeah, you kids go have fun now." She stood up and started walking away, mumbling to herself.
Soon after, Violet and Ben met up with each other in the jungle. The two were the only ones still out there from having to separate from their dinosaurs. It was weird because Ben was not approaching Violet by himself.
"Bumpy kept following me–" Ben stopped himself as his hand was pointed at Bumpy but now pointed at her face. "Why is your face like that? Did you eat the poisonous berries again? I told you not to eat everything you saw."
"I did not. And that was one time, I was desperate." Violet blinked her eyes to look at Ben in disbelief. She forced a smile, "But hey, Bullet happily moved on."
Ben put a hand on her shoulder, trying to be empathetic, "I'm sorry, Violet. I'm sure Bullet misses you a ton right now."
"Yeah..." Violet loudly sighed, a bit relieved, "He was like a little kid that wasn't potty trained. Now, he's grown into...a man. I'm kinda proud of him."
"Wait, you're not sad?" Ben asked her and quickly turned his head to Bumpy then back at her.
Violet led the way back to the others, acting cheerful, "Nope. He can finally make actual friends now and be with his family."
"Oh...Speaking of friends." Ben glanced at the view in front of them. They were near their group meet-up area which made him think about the others. He stared forward, being quiet but wanting to speak up about something that wasn't the first time he'd brought up, "Is everything okay between you and-"
"Bullet is fine," Violet spoke out, keeping her eyes forward as she acted clueless. She knew what Ben was trying to say and she really didn't want to spoil the mood with that topic. "He's happy. I'm happy. Sometimes you just have to move on–"
"Okay." Ben glanced at Bumpy with an unsure look. "But...I've been talking to Connor who's been talking to Brooklynn who's been talking to Kenji who said that Sammy said that Yaz said that someone was avoiding her. Ergo, I think Yaz was talking about you."
Violet slowly picked her gaze up from the ground with both her brows raised. She tilted her head at Ben, "Hmm. If that someone was told that, you know, everything was a mistake and all. Then that someone shouldn't waste their time talking to that person."
She turned to him without a smile on her face this time, "You can say Violet said that."
Ben raised both brows then waved his hand at her with a nervous smile, "You were right, I think Bullet is happy." He turned to Bumpy, speaking in a low whisper, "I don't think said person is happy."
"I can hear you, Ben. You're right next to me."
