Gregory; Charmaine we gotta let him go, he's not improving
Charmaine: but he's not getting any worse
Leslie: honey he's suffering like this. My son would not want to be kept here in this veggie state
Charmaine: he's my husband and I'm keeping him on the ventilator !(tears falling) I will not lose him !
Chloe:(hugging her) mama they have a point. Dad wouldn't wanna be like this , we gotta let him rest now
Charmaine pov; I was crying to bad. They wanted me to take him off the vent and I didn't want to. He's been on life support for 2 months and nothing has changed. I've lost him he's gone.
Doctor: we rarely keep patients on this long Mrs. Shaw, he's not improving and in a long run the life support could make him worse because he's so dependent on it. In my medical opinion, sadly it's time
Charmaine: we just had a baby 2 weeks ago and now today I have to let my husband go. Can't y'all do something ? It's y'all's job to make him better !
Gregory: it's too late Charmaine ! Let my son get his peace
Charmaine: fine, do it ! Just give me the paper to sign !
Doctor: I know this is hard for you Mrs. Shaw, but you're doing the right thing (handing her the clipboard )
Charmaine: (sighs the paper) Chloe go in the waiting room
Chloe: mama I wanna stay
Charmaine: shakes her head) you don't need to see this Chloe, just to go to the waiting room. Please baby. Tell darius to come in here he's his best friend and I want him to be here for this
Chloe: okay (walks out)
Charmaine pov: I sat next to the bed and held his hand. I couldn't stop crying. I did not want to let my baby go. Darius came in the room and stood next to me and patted my back. Then the docors began removing the tubes from his nose and throat. He started to gasp a little and then began coughing. This must have been a good sign because the doctors started listening to his chest and stuff and checking his pulse.
Doctor: he's starting to breathe on his own.(smiles) he's making progress
Darius pov: Oliver been my best friend since we were babies. When Chloe told me to come to the room I started crying. I didn't wanna lose my bestfriend and I know Charmaine didn't want to let him go either. But when they pulled his tubes out and he started to cough I knew there was some hope. The doctors told us to wait in the waiting room until they examined him and ran tests to see if he was truly okay. I told Charmaine to go home and get a little bit of sleep and I would call her if anything changed. It's been 2 weeks since she gave birth to their son and she needs to rest while she can. I really hope ollie is good. He's my family for real.
