We used Billy's car to drive to the tunnels that Hopper had previously dug. Max insisted on driving the car but I refused. Even tho Max said she could drive I really did not want to test that out.

Steve who was beaten up pretty badly by Billy sat in the backseat with the kids.

"Y/n?" I heard from the backseat, making me look up into the rearview mirror.

"No don't touch it," Dustin grabbed Steve's wrist who was trying to touch his face. "Hey, buddy..." He shushed. "It's okay. You put up a good fight. He kicked your ass, but you put up a fight. You're okay."

Steve groaned next to him. I was happy that he woke up but I had to focus on the road in front of me.

"Okay, you're gonna keep straight for half a mile, then make a left on Mount Sinai," Lucas told me.

I nodded as I speed up the car.

"What's going on?" Steve asked with a tired voice.

I looked up into the rearview mirror to look at him. "We're going on a small excursion with the kids."

"Oh, my God!" Steve shouted.

"Just relax," Dustin said. "They were gonna leave you behind. I promised that you'd be cool, okay?" He said to Steve who had begun to panic.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. What's going on?" Steve began to move in his seat.

I ignored him as I speed up the car even more.

"Oh, my God. No! Whoa! Stop the car. Slow down." Steve panicked.

"I told you he'd freak out," Mike said to Dustin.

"Stop the car!"

"I'm trying to focus!" I shouted at them.

"Oh, wait, that's Mount Sinai." Lucas pointed to a road ahead. "Make a left."

I did as he said and took a sharp turn to the left, hitting the trash can that was in front of me. Everyone screamed since they all got whipped around.

"Oh, God! Jesus!" Steve panicked again.

"Steve! Shut up!" I shouted back at him.

We made our way down the road and I parked right in front of the hole. I turned around to look at everyone. "We're here."

Lucas was the first one to climb out of the car. He made his way to the trunk as we followed him.

Steve groaned as he struggled to climb out. "Guys." He said as he collapsed against the side of the car. "Oh, no. Guys."

We ignored him as we continued taking the stuff out of the trunk and putting on our goggles and bandanas.

"Hey, where do you think you're going?" Steve said to Mike who was carrying gasoline and rope in his hands. Mike ignored him as he continued walking. "What are you, deaf? Hello?" Mike didn't say anything as he began to tie the rope around the car. "We are not going down there right now. I made myself clear."

I tied Dustin's bandana and he walked over to Mike with more gasoline in his hands.

"Hey, there's no chance we're going to that hole, all right?" Steve said. "This ends right now!" He yelled, walking to the trunk and throwing down the bandana that was on it.

"Steve!" I yelled back. He leaned against the car as he looked down at me. "I get that you're upset and I'm sorry that I haven't listened to you, but our friends need help and our duty is to provide that." I leaned back at the car as I reached to grab his backpack. "Now, we promised Nance that we would keep the kids safe." I thrusted the bag into his chest as he held onto it. "So, help me keep them safe."
