Jonathan stopped the car in front of the mall, sending me and Steve flying back. I groaned, rubbing my head as everyone began to get out of the car.

Jonathan walked over to the trunk and opened it, letting Steve and me out.

"Where is it?" Steve asked, looking around.

"It's not that small, we should be able to see it," I shrugged my shoulders.

"Maybe it's inside?" Nancy asked.

They began to come up with explanations about where the creature might be but something caught my eye. I slowly walked over to Billy's car, seeing that Billy was missing. "Guys!" I called, catching their attention. I turned around to face them. "Billy...he's missing."

"What?" Nancy asked concerned as she and the others walked over to take a better look at his car, seeing that he was truly gone.

Suddenly a loud shrieking could be heard coming from the mall.

"The Mind Flayer." Nancy and I said in unison as we rushed to the mall.

"Guys, wait!" Lucas stopped us. "The fireworks, we could use them to defeat the Mind Flayer."

"Good thinking, Lucas," I said.

We walked over to the car, Lucas pulling out the box full of fireworks.

"Yeah, this could work." Steve nodded.

After coming up with a plan we rushed over to the back of the mall, Steve and I leading the way since we knew all the paths. We walked quickly down the halls, eventually turning to the stairwell to the first floor. We jogged up and once we got there we saw the Mind Flayer, slowly walking over to El, and Billy who was on top of her.

We placed down the fireworks and got in our position. I lighted the firework before looking over at Steve who nodded, signaling me to throw it. Just as the Mind Flayer bent over to roar at Eleven I threw the firework at him. It exploded into million pieces, making the creature wail in pain.

"Flay this, you ugly piece of shit!" Lucas yelled before throwing the firework into its mouth.

A sea of colors lit up the dark mall as we continued to attack the creature with fireworks, making the Mind Flayer screech in pain.

I handed Steve the firework. "Hey, asshole!" He yelled, making the monster turn to look at us. "Over here!" Steve grunted before throwing the firework at it.

Billy began to scream in pain, as we launched firework after firework, slowly beating the Mind Flayer.

"Steve we're almost out!" I yelled before throwing another firework.

"I know!" Steve yelled back.

I rushed over to the walkie-talkie that Dustin handed me before. "Dustin! We're out of time!"

"Hurry! Close it now!" Dustin yelled through the radio.

"Shit, Y/n we're out!" Steve yelled.

I began to curse as I looked down at the creature and Billy who had made its way on top of Eleven. Suddenly he got up to stand right in front of the creature.

As if we were in slow motion the creature snarled and roared at Billy and Eleven before shooting one of its tounges out of its mouth. Eleven began to crawl away from the creature as Billy rushed over to stand in front of her, stopping the creature with his hands.

"No!" Billy yelled as he used all of his strength to keep Eleven safe. Blood pooled out of his mouth as the creature shot the tentacles into his stomach. Billy screamed in pain as more of the tentacles shot through his body. He let out one last scream as the Mind Flayer shot the last tentacle through his chest.

I gasped, placing my hand on my mouth as I watched in terror. Steve quickly walked over to me, turning me around so that I wouldn't be able to see Billy's lifeless body.

"Billy!" I heard Max yell.

Suddenly the creature began to screech and spam, as it swung its arms around, crashing into the stores.

"Get down!" Steve yelled as we fell to the ground. The creature hit the rail in front of us, falling onto the ground as it let a final screech.

My heart raced like crazy as Steve helped me get on my feet. We walked over to the rail, looking down at the dead creature.

Mike rushed over, hugging El in the process and I ran down, hurrying over to Max who shook her brother's shoulder.

"Billy!" Max sobbed. "Billy..."

"Max," I called softly. "I'm so sorry." I crouched down, putting my hand on her back. She collapsed into me, hugging me tightly. She sobbed into my chest as I held her. "It's okay. It's okay. I got you." I held her tightly as I glanced over at Mike and Eleven who were already looking at us.

I sat on the back of the ambulance with a blanket around me as the nurse gave me ice for my bruises.

"You're fine, you just need to lie down and the bruises will go away. Oh, and make sure you cool your bruises with ice." The nurse said and I nodded.

"Can I go now?" I asked.

"Yes." The nurse nodded.

I thanked her before walking over to Steve, sitting down next to him I placed my head on his shoulder. "Do you think that this will ever end?"

"What do you mean?" Steve asked as held my hand.

"The gate, the Mind Flayer?" I sighed. "Do you think that we will be able to live a normal life and not have to worry that the Demogorgon will eat us on our way home?" I chuckled at the last part.

"I hope so." Steve paused for a second. "As much as I hate to think about that, the Demogorgon did bring us together tho." He smiled as he looked down at me.

"Yeah, you're right." I smiled.

We made eye contact before pulling in for a short, but lovely kiss.
