When we got to Lovers Lake it was already dark outside. We quietly walked to the door, Dustin rapidly ringing the doorbell.
"Okay," Steve spoke up. "Well, that's settled. I guess he's not here."
Dustin ignored him as he began banging on the door. "Eddie! It's Dustin!"
"Great," Steve shook his head.
"Look, we just wanna talk, okay?" Dustin said as he looked through the window. "No cops, I swear. We just wanna help." He banged on the door again. "Eddie!"
"Shh." Robin shushed as she looked through the window as well.
I brought my flashlight up and peeked inside. Not seeing anyone inside I sighed.
Dustin began to ring the bell again. "Rick!" He banged on the door. "Reefer Rick!"
"Don't scream that," Steve warned.
"Rick!" Dustin called.
"He's not there," Steve said.
I ignored their bickering as I turned around and slowly walked to the side of the house. I walked closer to the back as my flashlight lead the way. In front of me was a shed, a small light on in front of it. "Hey, guys?" I said catching their attention. They walked over to me, looking at the shed.
We carefully walked over to it, shining the flashlight through the windows as Robin slowly pushed the door open. "Hello?" She called. "Is anyone home?"
Steve held the door open, letting me in before him. "What a dump," He said as he made his way inside as well. He turned off his flashlight and picked up the oar that was placed on the wall. He slowly walked over to the tarp, poking it repeatedly.
"What are you doing?" I asked as I jumped back.
"He might be in here," Steve answered as he continued to poke the tarp.
"So take the tarp off," Dustin said as he made his way over to us.
"If you're so brave, you take the tarp off." Steve snapped.
"Steve I don't think he's in there," I concluded.
"Hey, look over here." I heard Max say. "Someone was here."
"Maybe he heard us," I said.
"Yeah, he probably got spooked and ran," Robin added.
"Don't worry," Dustin smiled. "Steve will get him with his oar."
"I know you think you're being funny," Steve said, still poking the tarp. "but considering everyone in this room has nearly died a hundred times, personally, I don't find it funny in the slight--"
Suddenly Eddie jumped out of the tarp. Causing us to scream as we jumped back. Eddie grabbed Steve's jacket and pushed him to the wall that was behind him.
"Wait!" Steve cried as Eddie pushed him. "Wait! Wait! Wait! Wait!" His back hit the wall as Eddie put the broken bottle to his neck.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, Eddie!" Dustin yelled as he walked over to them. "Eddie! Stop!"
"Eddie put the bottle down," I said softly, trying to calm him down. He looked at me, then at Steve, and then back at me.
"Eddie! Eddie!" Dustin shouted catching his attention. "It's me. It's Dustin." Eddie looked at Dustin now, not letting go of Steve. "This is Steve. He's not gonna hurt you, right, Steve?"
"Right," Steve whispered. "Yeah."
"Steve, why don't you drop the oar?"
Steve followed Dustin's order and dropped the oar, but Eddie moved the bottle closer to his neck, causing him to groan.
