The next morning we went to Lovers Lake again. Steve parked in front of Rick's house and we got out of the car, grabbed the food, and walked over to the shed where Eddie was staying.
Pushing the doors open with a smile on our faces, Eddie jumped when he saw us. "Jesus..."
"Delivery service." Dustin smiled, holding up the bags of food.
Eddie exhaled as Steve waved at him.
Dustin walked over to him, handing him the bags. As Eddie took the bags from Dustin's hands he sat down. Looking inside the bags he took some cereal.
"So we got, uh, some good news and some bad news," Dustin told Eddie who continued to show the cereal in his mouth. "How do you prefer it?"
"Bad news first, always," Eddie answered with a full mouth.
"All right. Bad news. We tapped into the Hawkins PD dispatch with our Cerebro, and they're definitely looking for you. Also, they're, uh, pretty convinced you killed Chrissy." Dustin explained.
"Like, 100% kind of convinced." Max piped in.
"And the good news?" Eddie looked at us.
"Your name hasn't gone public yet," Robin answered. "But if we found out about you, it's a matter of time before others do too. And once that get's out, everyone and their shallow-minded mother is gonna be gunning for you."
"Hunt the freak, right?" He asked, looking up at Robin.
"Exactly," Robin confirmed.
"Shit," Eddie muttered.
"So, before, that happens," Dustin began. "we find Vecna, kill him, and prove your innocence."
"That's all Dustin?" Eddie snapped, glaring at him. "That's all?"
"Yeah, no, that's pretty much it."
"Look, Eddie," I said, catching his attention. "I know everything that Dustin is saying sounds delusional, but we've actually been through this before."
"They have a...a few times," Robin piped in as Steve nodded. "and...and, I have once."
"Yeah, her's was like human-flesh-based, ours was like smoke-based," I continued. "but we did fight some Demo dogs and a Demogorgon which weren't really smoke-based, but they did have a connection with a smoke-based creature."
"The bottom line is," Robin piped in. "collectively, I really feel like we got this."
Eddie's eyes shifted to Steve who began to talk. "We usually rely on this girl who has superpowers. But, uh, those went bye-bye so..." He crossed his arms.
"So we're technically in more of the--" Robin began.
