Better babysitter // Steve Harrington x Reader //

the end? part one

After buying our supplies and escaping Jason and his group we ended up in a random field, preparing for the upcoming fight with Vecna. 

Saying that I wasn't scared of this monster would be a lie but I tried to maintain my cool, not wanting to show any fear since I didn't want the group to worry about me. Killing this unknown entity and keeping Max safe was our first priority. 

I grabbed the saw and the shotgun and went to sit down. Max came over to help me saw off the barrel as I didn't want Vecna or anybody else to grab it as Jason did. I put the shotgun on the old metal box as Max held it in place so it wouldn't move and began to saw right through it.

Max looked at me worried before speaking. "Is this legal?"

"I don't know, but I want to be sure that I don't miss," I said before sawing the barrel off.

"You son of a bitch." I heard someone yell as I looked over only to see Dustin and Eddie playfully pushing each other. A light smile formed on my face as I looked over them.

"Can we test the gun?" Max asked making me look at her.

"We can test it just not with bullets. We need to save them and we don't want anybody to hear the shot." Max nodded as I explained why we couldn't test the shotgun. 

"Can I at least hold it?" Max asked.

I thought for a second. The gun was not loaded so I decided to give it to her. "Just be careful." 

Her smile widened as she took the gun from my hands. She looked at the gun more closely now before placing it in a shooting position. "This is pretty cool."

"I know," I said before taking the gun from her hands as I didn't want her to hurt herself. 

"Hey, Y/N," Max said. "Make sure that you kill him.

"I will."

After everyone was done preparing the weapons we headed back to the trailer. Steve drove us to Victor Creel's house as we sat in our seats. We were scared and nervous but we knew that we had to stop Vecna from destroying our town.

I looked out of the window, seeing the creepy house as Steve stopped the trailer right beside it. Max, Lucas, and Erica got out of the trailer to prepare for the fight. We wished them good luck before driving to the designated spot.

It was already dark outside as we stopped at the area and went through our plan once more.

"Okay. I wanna run through it one more time." Nancy said before turning around to look at us. "Phase one."

"We meet Erica at the playground," Robin said. "She'll signal Max and Lucas when we're ready."

Nancy nodded. "Phase two."

"Max baits Vecna. He'll go after her, which'll put him in his trance." Steve explains.

"Phase three." Nancy looked at Dustin and Eddie.

"Me and Eddie draw the bats away," Dustin said as Eddie playfully rubbed his head.

"Four."

"We head into Vecna's lair, and..." I began to speak as Robin grabbed the handmade fire bomb.

"...flambe" Robin added wawing the bomb.

"Nobody moves on to the next phase until we've all copied," Nancy demanded. "Nobody deviates from the plan, no matter what. Got it?"

"Got it." All of us said together as we grabbed our stuff and headed to Eddie's trailer where the gate for the upside down was. Steve opened the door and went inside first. He placed his bag on the floor as he grabbed the sheet that was hanging from the gate.
