I was at my lunch break, eating the banana at the table in my god-awful Scoops Ahoy uniform. Steve and I had gotten a job here when the mall opened since we wanted to start saving for college.
Because of the incident from last year, we have gotten pretty close, and working together now has made us even closer.
"Okay, here you go," Steve said as he placed the chocolate chip ice cream in front of me.
"Thank you, you're the best." I smiled as I put the last piece of banana in my mouth before digging in to eat the ice cream in front of me.
"Yeah, yeah. I know I'm the best," Steve said as I rolled my eyes at his comment.
"Hey, dinguses, you're children are here!" Robin, our coworker yelled as Steve walked over to the window and opened it.
"Again? Seriously?" Steve asked looking at the kids in front of him. He and I had sometimes let the kids in from the back doors so they could see the movies for free.
I walked over to him, looking at the kids in front of the counter. Mike stayed quiet as he rang the bell. I waved at them and Lucas, Max, and Will waved back.
Steve went to let them in as I walked over to Robin who was leaning against the counter.
"How do you know so many kids?" She asked.
I shrugged before speaking. "It's complicated."
"Oh, like your relationship with Steve?" She smirked before winking at me.
I punched her shoulder jokingly as she pretended that she was hurt. "We're just friends, Robin, come on you know this."
"Yeaaahh, suuuurrree." She draged.
"I'm going to go finish my ice cream," I said as I turned around to walk over to the table in the back.
I heard Robin laugh and I turned around to glare at her through the open window.
Steve had already gotten back and Robin turned serious, pretending to zip her mouth with her fingers.
I smiled at her action as I went to sit at the table. Just as I was about to put the spoon of ice cream in my mouth the lights went off. "Seriously?" I sighed before standing up and making my way over to Robin and Steve. "What happened?" I asked, crossing my arms.
"That's weird. I don't know." Steve answered as he walked over to the switch, turning it off and on.
"That isn't gonna work, dingus," Robin said.
"Oh, really?" Steve moved his fingers faster, switching the switch on and off. Eventually, the lights turned back on, causing Steve to shrug. "Let there be light." He said, looking at Robin who smiled at him.
"Wow, Steve didn't know you were a magician." I joked.
"Well, there's a lot more that you don't know about me L/n."
"Like what?" I asked, raising my eyebrow.
"You'll find out yourself."
I rolled my eyes as I went back to finally eating the ice cream that was waiting for me on the table.

"Alrighty, one scoop of chocolate. That's a buck-twenty-five." Steve said handing the girl her ice cream. "Anything else?"
The girl shook her head and handed him the money. I watched from the side as Steve attempted to flirt with the girl in front of him.
"Ooh, Purdue." He said while taking the money from the girl's hand. "Fancy." He chuckled as he looked down and then back at her.
