I cheered with the crowd as the basketball team ran into the gym. I spotted Lucas who looked through the crowd, trying to find his friends. "Let's go, Lucas!" I cheered, making him turn around to look at me.

Lucas noticed me as he flashed a smile before running to his team members to start practicing.

"Let's go Tigers! Let's go Tigers!" The cheerleading team cheered as well.

The band stopped playing as one of the teachers made his way into the center of the gym. "Everyone now please rise for our national anthem." He spoke into the microphone as we stood up. "Singing for us tonight, we have a very special guest." He continued. "All the way from Nasville, our very own Tammy Thompson!"

Steve and I looked at each other at the mention of her name. It was the Tammy Thompson that Robin had a crush on in the past. Steve often joked about how she sounded like a Muppet and now I finally have a chance to listen to her sing.

Mouths wide open, we both turned our heads to look at Tammy who made her way into the gym, waving at the crowd in the process.

"We love you, Tammy!" One of the students shouted before Tammy stopped in front of the microphone.

She started to sing the national anthem and I chuckled at the thought of a Muppet singing the anthem instead.

"Told you," Steve whispered into my ear. "Muppet."

"She sounds like Kermit," I whispered before turning my attention back to her singing.

We sat down on our seats when the anthem ended. The referee blew the whistle, signaling that the game began. He threw the ball into the air and Jason, the team captain grabbed the ball and scored the first score. The crowd cheered with the cheerleaders as we continue to score more points.

My eyes drifted to Lucas who was sitting on the bench. He looked hurt and my heart shattered seeing him so sad.

"You're in. Son, let's go!" I heard the coach shout at Lucas who immediately stood up. He took off his jacket as he rushed into the field.

"Go, Lucas!" Steve and I cheered in unison.

Jason scored another point making the score now 36:33 for the guests but our team managed to climb up to 50 points.

"Shoot it!" Steve shouted as the player got ready to shoot the ball, making it another point for us.

"Time out, time out!" Jason shouted making the game stop.

"I can't believe I'm so into this game," I told Steve.

"I told you basketball is cool, especially when I play it," Steve said confidently.

"Yeah, you keep telling yourself that." I joked.

"Ha-ha, very funny." Steve faked the laugh. "You would not be saying that if you were at my games."

"I've been to one of your games, the first year I got here." I reminded him. "I was not very impressed tho." I teased.

Steve stayed quiet as he formed his lips into a thin line, nodding in embarrassment.

I mouthed the word 'sorry' and turned to look at the players who began to play again.

Jason threw the ball, unfortunately missing the hoop but Lucas managed to grab the ball. There were only 3 seconds left making the pressure on Lucas even harder. He turned around and threw the ball. The buzzer buzzed and as if it was in slow motion, the ball flew to the hoop.

"Come on!" I shouted as the ball wouldn't go into the hoop, but then suddenly it got in. Making us win by one point. Steve and I jumped up and down as we high-fived each other. "He did it!"
